Yeah I have always wanted to do this build. WHP means something to me but this is just meant for my DD and to go fast in small burst. I will probably never track it but I might take it down the strip after I am done a few times. And tracking a car WHP does not mean as much as it does going down the strip.

I will keep updating as I go along

the SC is less work than the turbo i'd imagine. I would feel comfortable installing a supercharger myself in my garage... but probably not a turbo.

Yeah I turbo is more work to install then a supercharger. I have had 2 super chargers on different cars and love both of them. But now there is so much more you can do to improve them then when I had the first one

Obert you should port and polish your SC/manifold. I'd like to see the numbers on that!

Nice Graph! Here is my comparison chart. When I graphed mine, I used the standard 6MT weight +160LBS for me as a driver. I didn't adjust anything else. Also, my NA setup was only running K&N airfilter + Flashpro.

STAGE 2 vs NA

I'm just curious here, but what kind of fuel economy are you guys getting with the s/c? And what is your city/highway mix?

The idea of just slapping on the s/c and getting vit to tune entices me. Sounds like the "easy way out".

Once you go with bigger injectors you can't trust what the car is saying your getting as in fuel mileage. It throughs it off from what I have been told and have seen.

The only way to look at fuel usage after your boosted is by how heavy your right foot is

Well, have any of you calculated your personal mpg? I'm just curious how much of an effect the s/c has if you keep your foot out of it. That's to say, how much of a decrease would you have just by adding the s/c to the loop?

Pretty sure Vit said somewhere that the newer si's were getting 19-21 per gallon with the sc setup.. Their final drive is a bit longer and the car is lighter so idk if that would correlate with our cars

I can tell you I get 21 mixed, and about 24 highway... With boosting. Also, you can adjust the calculation for fuel economy within flashpro. Mine reads correctly, because I took my average fuel vs how many miles I had driven and it was pretty much right on the money. I'm getting right around 350miles per tank when my low fuel light comes on.

How often would you say you are on the boost? 24 seems like quite the hit. I get around 29/30 right now. I only have a CAI and spend my time on the interstate or sitting in traffic briefly. I plan on getting a tune soon with just the intake and am waiting for a decent exhaust option before I get the PCD. I've been curious about the s/c though, for the obvious reasons. I was expecting a couple mpg loss but it sounds like it is more than that.

I'm not gunna lie, I got the supercharger to use it haha. I boost through round abouts, under bridges, merging on the highway, passing people on the highway, down hills, through tunnels, passing BMWs/Audis/Mercedes/Lexus and the occasional civic Si who wants to play, and then finally to beat a red light.

Other than that.. not too often.

This is asking a lot... Could you see what your mileage is like for a week on the gas only say, 10% of the time?

Unfortunately no..

To be completely honest, if gas mileage is really a concern for you, then a supercharger is not really the best option to consider.

Somehow I knew y'all would end up saying "DERR HURR HURR"

I do believe I already said that I expected lower mpg. I just didn't expect a drop that bad. I don't know about you guys, but I don't drive around my streets at WOT all the time. Back roads? Sure. Interstates and highways? No.

Thanks for your insight.

I used to get 30 highway and about 24 city... Im still well in the twenties. I think that's a win. My buddy's STi gets 18 now, after his tune. I'm putting ~120HP extra to the wheels, and only decreased highway 6MPG. That's pretty good to me.

Just my two cents

We averaged about 24 combined. It got shittier mileage than stock with the supercharger (only a couple mpg), but after I added the aftercooler mpg went up, we were getting 28-31 highway and 16-21 city.

Nice, he is looking to get brackets made for this that fit the TSX. You should make some and send it to him. He will give you a good deal on your next tune. He made the offer to me, but due to the nature of my work, I had to decline designing anything for him. BUTTT you should definitely do it to help the rest of the community out. I already have the mounting points outlined in my build thread.

That would be nice if I could figure something out while doing the install for him. So yeah we will see, I am waiting on complete short shifter to be sent to me so I can DIY it and make sure it fits and works how it should. So I am waiting on that and if all goes well us 2nd gen people will have a way better upgrade for a shorter shifter then the stupid small adapter that goes on the bottom of the shifter now

I have the same thing as you do but I think his user name is AWOK. He has designed a hole new shifter arm ta.jat replaces the stock one. But he need to finish one for the 2nd gen and send it to me so I can test it and DIY it for him.

He has already made and sold the same thing for 1st gens and is getting ready to do another 1st gens to sell through Heeltoe.

So the 2nd gen is not quite out yet f/s.

Doesn't CTE have a short shifter for our cars? Or am I thinking of something completely unrelated?

His user name is AWOC and this is his thread over on TSX.COM

Quest for the Ultimate/Affordable TSX Short Shifter - Acura TSX Forum

I don't believe CTE makes a complex replacement arm like he is doing. Just the small adapter that goes on the bottom of the stock shifter. Also if there is a full shifter replacement out there it's probably more $ then what this guy is charging. That's part of his plan is to make one that is not 3-5 hundred to buy.

Yeah we are talking bout the CTE adapter.. and Obert knows someone makinga new shift assembly (kinda) that should be better than just installing an adapter thingy.

Yeah I seen the k tuned shifters and while they look pretty, they cost an arm and a leg (like all their other products)! I'm not even sure if it's compatible with the CU2 tbh.

Good luck guys! I don't have this problem since I have an autotragic

If it makes you feel any better, the (only) highway I take to work just started a 2 year construction project that has traffic backed up really bad during rush hour. It's honestly THE WORST being in a manual during those times... especially with FI cause the shifts/boost doesn't make for easy transitions into the next gear set sometimes; mostly at slow rolling speeds.

That is a consideration. The fact an S/C kit exists already makes it appealing though. I'm just not sure that a ~6mpg drop is worth the trade off, for me. I was expecting more like 2-3mpg.

I will stay tuned to see how the aftercooler works out and what evolves with everyone else.

For the time being, I'll stick to CAI/PCD/ECU... Hoping RV6 or Greddy release an exhaust in the next 10 years
