Late Night Modifying

Hey how's it going folks, this would probably be marked as my first ever thread created. I drive a Vortex Blue 09 Tsx, and had it for a good 6 months. Couple minor mods here and there, nothing big yet haha. Anyways, me and a couple friends were at a local car meet and for some reason we decided to work on my car after the meet..blacked out headlights & install Tein S-Tech

A few shots before 12:03am

12:40am - Took off the front bumper and headlamps

The adhesive sealant is strong as fuckkk. -.-

Followed Kowloonsniperhk's thread on clearing the headlights

It was about 6am, so we both decided to take a nap and come back the next morning and finish it off...I landed myself a weird dream and it woke me up..surprisingly it was only 830am..cause usually i sleep until the afternoons ahhaha

So in the end it looks like this:

So next came the springs. No clue why we did it at 1am once again the following day. hhaha

Just got some Yokahoma S Drives since I fucked up the Advans driving to LA in 4 hours..

Some De Anza folks can't drive for sh*t! I was reversed parked too..

No gloves...

I was following Gabe15's steps and most played out accordingly..but to get that strut bar out of its place is a bitch. Our first try took us 2 hours..Gabe15 suggested either have a friend jump up and down so the control arm would bend, or simply use a jack in between the frame and the control arm? that method led us to too many bent jacks! We came up with a way that helped us quite more than the jack. I just simply used the jack sticks connected to a pry bar (for added leverage)

Wow I guess you guys are night owls? lol Love the color. Funny how you took pictures of the DIY, I was looking at the fifth picture and was attempting at your laptop screen and asked "Wait, is that me?" Hope that my DIY was clear enough. Post some post-drop pictures

Lol I used to do the same thing on my TL. Boring weekend nights usually turned into some sort of mod; Tein Suprt Street, lip kit, rear spoiler, etc. Good job!

Great thread, nice pictures. I particularly liked the picture of the salted duck eggs and that little tiny chair you (or your friend) were sitting on!

Seriously though, I'm curious about what you said here: "I just simply used the jack sticks connected to a pry bar (for added leverage)". How exactly did you use the jack sticks connected to a pry bar? I'm doing my suspension soon and how to lower the rear suspension to pull the damper out has been a big question mark for me. Thank you, and again, good job!

haha it was a Friday night, and for some odd reason we'd rather work on our cars then go out and get wasted at some bar or party haha. (drama seems to always pop off around this time in our generation..) haha

well I haven't found the time to take some nice high resolution pics with the slr..but here a few iphone quality i took when i started hearing the rubbing from my back wheels..

Ok bro, so if you were too look at the last picture where my hands were grimey holding a red rod looking thing. Well that rod connects to another rod which then is supposedly used to insert into the jack(not the one that comes with our cars). The rods were hollow so I could insert the pry bar at one end. THe reason why I inserted the pry bar is to try and extend the length of the rod so when I apply my body weight on the rod with it already pushing the control arm down, it really gives you so much leverage.. from my take its safer than relying on the jack to push it cos the jack could lose grip and it'll bend, making the control arm pull back into its original place.(its happened to me..and it was pretty damn scary..ahah!) hope this helps bro and good luck installing the new suspension!
