So, I was installing a K&N Typhoon intake system for a co-worker last month on his '08 Accord V6, and as I got the airbox out I started thinking, "Wow, this looks an awful lot like my TSXs setup...". So, I ordered up the same kit (K&N part # 69-0210TS), and gave it a shot today. Sure enough, everything fits perfectly. Heres a few pictures I snapped with my phone as I finished up:




It even fits with the stock engine bay plastic reinstalled:


Impressions? Well, some may see this as a minus, I see it as a big plus, it still sounds stock when you start it and at cruise and part throtte. It really doesn't make much more noise until you're hard on the gas, then it sounds great! Powerwise, well, I never really got a chance to nail it good on the way home, feels like it's got more? Maybe I'm just justifying my purchase

No chance I'll be able to do a before and after dyno, but now that y'all know it'll work, maybe someone else wants to give it a try?

Im sure this is great news for other V6 owners. My brother has a K&N typhoon on his car and it sounds so mean.

btw do they have a K&N typhoon for the i4? or for the i4 accord? (since it appears to fit both models for ur v6)

wow finally! i remember a while back, i heard on the forum that an intake for the v6 was in its testing stage, but the exhaust was a disaster and needed more work. i forgot the brand of the parts though. but anyway, this is great news for us v6 owners!!!

 

how much did it run you?

 

I think I got it for $270 CDN... which is a fair bit for a tube, box, and a filter, even a good fitting one

does anyone have this installed and likes it? I have a DC Sports SRI but the piping of the intake gets too hot. It might be the fact that I have the prototype from hondatuning but it just seems that the aluminum wasnt coated or something and after a few minutes of idling its almost as hot as my exhaust piping.

 

i feel like any accord intake will fit the 4cyl is pretty damn close and aparently the v6 is too.

 

Yea all the SRI fit from the j35 accord. I am trying to find a replacement and the K&N actually has heat shields which is a plus over what I have now

 

meh, its sitting a little to close to the engine.
heat soak is bad.

the stock cold air system is most likely better for performance wise.

 

yea it has minimal gains over stock according to the v6 accord forum guys the best sri is takeda I know it fits the tsx v6 so ive got my eyes set on that when I get the cash along with a TBS

 

when i drove back from dc to nyc with the takeda sri i got 30mpg in steady slow traffic... so not bad =D

 

Glad I found this thread, just got a 2010 V6, the intake looks really good and stealthy with the plastic covers back on--very nice!
