Just installed this and I have to say the car feels more quick to respond to acceleration over 3500 RPM. I know gains are questionable (if any) but man I have to say its a great must have piece versus the stock filters in our car especially when it comes to a part that has to be replaced every so many miles. I only have 25K miles on mine and man the stock filter was pretty dirty. K&N outlet on ebay is selling them for $39 shipped.

meh.

the stock paper filter out flows the throttle body.
with the KN, you're letting more particles through.

Not debating you at all, trust me I am the last guy to even claim to know what the hell I am talking about when its comes to technical performance facts but dont you run that risk with any type of intake mod versus the paper filter?

I found this article from K&N which had some good information regarding the filtering:

http://www.knfilters.com/filter_facts.htm

You make a good point and anyone doing a mod should understand the risk, but in this case to me personally just doesn't seem that big of a deal when weighing the pros/cons of an intake mod whether you just replace the filter or a full intake replacement.

Appreciate your input

what size is the stock throttle body? lol, I was thinking of buying an intake, but if the stock intake is too much for the throttle body, then I won't notice anything with an after market intake...though, it'll make the stock car sound better...im not a fan of the way the car sounds stock.

actually, I jumped the gun.
I was basing my comment off the 3rd gen TL's.
which this is true. the stock paper filter out flows the throttle body at WOT.
But, I dont see why Acura would go backwards in tech. so, I'm assuming the same is true with the 2nd gen TSX.

I was going to jump on the KN bandwagon when they first came out, but found this while researching. I use a paper filter, minus the resonator.

Good read, thanks for sharing. Even if there is no performance gain, just the fact that I can use the same filter other than cleaning it is a plus in my book. I still swear my butt dyno feels it, so I am good with that.. lol
