Intake resonator
Okay so heres how it went down, I stopped by acura to see what I can do to the car without voiding my warranty. He said use bolt ons because theyre completely easy to remove and add back on after service. I asked about the intake resonator, and he said remove it and take out whats inside of it and then reconnect it. My issue is I can't open the intake resonator because I don't know how to :/ I used another forum but it was filled with a bunch of dumba**es so I'm now onto this one. How can I open by intake resonator to take out whatevers in it?
I have 2010 v6, and the resonator piece is not meant to be taken apart. the two halves melted together.
if you remove the resonator, i don't think it will be much of an issue, cause you can't see it from above - way too much stuff in the way.
on the v6 tsx, the resonator is behind the front bumper on the driver's side, you can't tell i removed it by popping the hood.
tho i did change it completely out to a takeda sri, but thats a different story =D

have you tried looking through the forums? we're fun guys, sometimes we dick around, but you gotta understand that we dont want to baby you. i made a complete thread with DIY's in the general TSX section, and theres links to how to remove your resonator.
also, your service guy is a fuckin moron. acura would never say, go ahead, do this. you can do what you want, my dealer knows the mods i have on my lease. they are reversible, and i am required to put them back on prior to lease return. beside that, unless they cause failure, i cannot be denied warranty claims. and there is nothing to take out of the intake resonator. its a plastic box that swishes air around to quiet it. mine is completely removed

Thanks guys but my issue is that I live in Florida. The rain weather is awful. Just 2 days ago I had to go 25 on a street because of the rain and not having the resonator protecting the intake. If I went over 30 I could hear the intake sucking up the air. That's why I need to cut it open. My service guy said there are filters and such in there to make it quiter.
^negative ghost rider.
if you're driving in water that goes up to your bumper, you should not be driving at all.
remove the resonator and call it a day.
just use common sense when you're out and it starts to flood.
btw, resonators are not built with filters.
please look up the definition of Helmholtz resonance.

I have tons of bolt ons and I take my car into the dealer all the time, they simply tell me that as long as my modification is not the cause of the problem my warranty is perfectly fine. A good bit of info is that the cats/exhaust actually have a completely separate warranty from the rest of the car. Just bolt on have fun and take them off if decide not to keep the car.

look how high the hole for the intake is with no resonator. stick your hand in there at idle, you feel much suction? have a friend rev your engine with your hand by the hole, hows the suction? if water gets that high, you don't have to worry about hydrolocking, your car will be pretty much driving at the bottom of a lake, water above the hood, and going into your windows.
