sup fish, glad you made it here. the SRI is def. louder, it sounds like a mean V6 when you rev it. but sometimes its too loud for me, i really like the CAI sound. both sounds pretty subtle below 3k, but the SRI is a lot louder when you punch it compared to CAI. both sounds aggressive, SRI more than CAI

Are you merely looking for sound? Or performance? CAI all the way if you want performance. If you want loud performance then the AEM version should do it for ya.

This question has been answered way too many times.

I've said it once and I'll say it again, if you go with SRI, we'll call you an ed_423. You don't wanna be an ed_423. You wanna be like TSXKid2010, KillerG, and Mr.NC CAI ALLLLL DAY.

^ LOl eff you

and mr. NC has it as SRI too man!

after having both, i honestly do not feel a huge difference in both other than sound. MAYBE sri has a small tiny bit less power up top, but simple downshift can change that. i feel that it could be that way because when you step on it it gets louder than cai or stock, yet it doesnt seem to go much faster.

ok to be honest, i dont kno shit about intakes. buttttt i got some quick questions

what makes more noise? and at which rpm?

what has more performance gain?

how can u change from sri to cai?

SRI makes more noise. both intake roars after 3k rpm, SRI SCREAMS at high rpm (almost like the engine is gonna blow haha)

2. performance gain: honestly, pretty much the same. but CAI seems more desirable because it draws in cold air vs SRI,which draws warm air from engine bay. but either way you are freeing up some airflow and gaining pretty much the same performace: not much.

3. chagning from SRI to CAI is in the instruction that comes with the intake. pretty much just install/take away a tube and a cuplet and replace filter and you are good to go

hmmmmmm.... so i should get a CAI and then convert to SRI. so which intake should i get, i mean like Injen, takeda, aem....

So i should have a CAI during the summer and a SRI during the winter?

Is this "switching" feature only in injen intakes?

Where do you get them?

you dont really HAVE to, but you are gonna want to. once your stock airbox is gone, the resonator just sits there as a useless piece of extra weight lol

friend said you dont really need to make one either because you know how when you take out the stock air box, theres that tube at the bottom, the cold air comes in from there and right into the filter which is right on top of it.

and ed, was it me or was injen kind of a bitch to put togethr cause like putting in the rubber tube, and the filter was a pain....

the 1st time is always a bitch. but after that, when i convert the sri to cai, it was much easier to get the filter/tubes in

you don't HAVE to, its just easier to do so. i could've converted without taking out the bumper, but i experienced some minor problems since it was my first time converting so i had to remove bumper to take a closer look

FWIW, the tube on the bottom of your airbox isn't even a cool air supply on this car. The other end of it is mounted right behind the radiator on the drivers side on that little runner tube with the plastic rectangle cover.

There is something to be said for heat soak on a SRI, the temp difference is measurable, particularly with a metal air intake tube that transfers engine bay heat *to* the air in the tube.

It's coolant (antifreeze) you have a leak on one of the cooling lines disrupted during the install.

It's falling from wherever it is down there. It is definitely from the install though, double check your work

all i did was follow the manual and made sure i tightened up everything after . and im pretty sure its not from the install cause nothings leaking from the tubes and its not near the hood that's leaking its like in the middle of the car

If you want to trace it yourself, you can get dye from an auto parts store, pour it in the radiator, then shine a UV light underneath and trace it backwards. (After the car warms up)

If the leak is on the top of the engine on the (example: driver's side), it can follow hoses or shrouds or electric wiring and drip on the total opposite side of the car.

Quick Reply: injen cai or short ram
