Getting Ready to do an RL Caliper Brake Upgrade

I purchased the FastBrakes adapter kit, 05-12 RL Calipers, 350Z rotors, stainless steel braided brake lines, Ceramic pads and some Honda Brake Fluid. Will be doing the swap within the next couple of days! Anyone have any insight on the project?

And the FastBrakes adapter kit, complete with bolts, hub centric rings for the rotors, banjo bolts washers etc.

Nice man. Never done the swap, but looks pretty straight forward. Just make sure to torque/tighten and bleed the brakes.

I was thinking of either doing this or going with Spoon calipers. If you don't mind me asking, where di you source the calipers and how much?

Oh absolutley on the "bleeding" of the brakes!! I have to have a firm pedal feel, hence the main reason for doing this upgrade!!!
I sourced the calipers off Ebay. They were $150 for the pair. All in all, good condition. seals etc. I purchased new hardware for them and just swapped that out getting them "renewed" for the full swap. I should be doing the swap this weekend.

The swap is pretty straight forward. No surprises other than needing a 5mm wheel spacer. These new 324mm rotors from a 350Z Brembo pkg car are 24mm larger than our OEM rotors. Which is essentially 1" larger as an inch is 25.4mm. They do fill in the wheel openings much better in my opinion. I love the look, I love the braking power now. As a interesting side result, the front end feels more solid/stabe. Extra rotating mass kinda helped solidify the front end in my opinion. I hope this write-up helps anybody else out there!

I upgraded my RL calipers with new hardware from ARP......
new bolts, then the last 2 pics are the old bolts! Much needed visual improvement but also a much stronger and high tensile strength bolt....

How do you like the breaks so far since you've put on some miles? I've been thinking of doing this.

They are incredible!! Worth the upgrade! The car brakes so much more confidently, pedal feel is awesome, very firm. The extra weight also firmed up steering on-center as well. I couldn't imagine the car without these brakes now!! That much of an improvement

Is that an RL braided steel line kit or a TL one?
