Firming up that MEAN lean..
Firming up that MEAN lean..
I came from a Mazda6 that had Mazdaspeed springs, shocks, and stabilizer bars on it. It would shatter your teeth over bad roads..
I love the ride of the TSX, but the body lean in fast corners kinda sucks. I would like to firm it up, but not mess with the ride as much. I read you can add the 3G TL rear sway for chump change and this makes a huge difference.
Is this true? Also, what else can I do to reduce the body lean?
Thanks!

Get the actual rear sway bar http://www.heeltoeauto.com/progress-...e-62.0105.html
i came from a mazda6 also but only had the mazdaspeed springs. the handling of that car is about the only thing i miss about it. the tsx is better in all other areas.
i would love to upgrade the rsb, but i'm not interested in drilling anything. also, i think the springs on the tsx are progressive, which explains why the handling gets a bit unnerving when you're hitting multiple bumps.

people who've installed the rsb, swear by it. Unless you plan on switching between having the stock and aftermarket rsb, there's no point in not installing it...in other words, drilling bigger holes shouldn't be a concern.

IMO, an RSB alone will not do it. You'll need some good springs like Eibachs or H&Rs, or coilovers, if you want to go that route. There's no need to slam it because that doesn't always help, just get something with a slight drop and higher spring rates than the stock springs and that will help significantly, especially if combined with an RSB.
I think the 22mm will be enough without springs. I don't want a track car, I just want to reduce the body lean. The grip is there, but the body lean throws it off IMO.
Of course I say this now.. the Mazda6 started off with wanting an RSB, remote start, and tint. a few grand later (HIDs, halos, f/r SB, springs, wheels/tires, exhaust, etc.) I was addicted lol
Benben, we should just organize a mod meet at your house for relatively easy installs... intakes, RSB, suspension (no compressing springs though), etc. I'll help with beer, tools and labor.

and im in for group buy on the non drilling RSB.
i can do a bumper removal demo for everyone hahaha, and ofcourse, plastidipping and HID foglight installs will be provided
and if you want HID, i recommend DDMtuning, some people have HIDextra, or ebay kits. i can install any for ya
but seriously, who should we ask to see if we can get a group buy going for the non-drilling rsb? i believe it's the UR rsb right? anyone want to double check for me? excelerate? failtoe?
I will look for the UR bar.
The Maz6 and the TSX are 2 different animals. What works for the 6 will not necessarily work for the TSX. Right out of box, the TSX is a great handling FWD sports sedan which is very easy to rotate in tight corners. All that UR bracing is overkill IMHO. Damn.. I just sounded like our resident grown up "ceb"
ok.. just had a ceb moment.. i am back
the front strut tower bar is not necessary as we already have one (well my 2011 comes with one). The chassis is fairly rigid for what most of us can handle. for the sake of saving some money and putting it to other mods, i say a rsb with a set of coils is all you really need.

yea but according to the product webpage on a site, it was saying how because you're bolting on more screws and thicker ones, the aftermarket strut bar is better? i too thought, isn't it the same thing? and i think all the tsx's came with a strut tower bar.
