CTE supercharger

Any advice on the install? I'm waiting on the kit to be shipped (purchased through heeltoe auto). Marcus is a good guy and has worked quickly to answer all my questions. Give them your business!

Parts:

CTE kit
Aem wideband
Ecu connector pins
Thinking about a smaller pulley and aftercooler
Planning on getting tuned by vit (he tuned my current setup(full bolt ons) and it runs strong!)

it's pretty much bolt on. the cte kit, ecu pins, pulley and aftercooler are alll bolt ons

aem wideband, you're going to need to figure out where you want to place the bung. then have an exhaust shop weld in a bung. then wire wideband from bung into cabin and into gauge pod

Should've bought Obert's parts when he posted them up. Sounds like you are going the route he did.

I've pretty much outlined everything I ran into in my thread. Reference that, as well I made a guide for the wideband install. That should help.

Well, he did PM me about a belt question. But new user had full inbox.

Anyways, I have a lot of info in my thread, and there's a lot of info in the boosted thread, and flashpro thread.

I would say, me and iselfdevi are the only active members who can answer TSX related supercharger questions. And Im currently the only one in the nation running stage 2 setup

I had seen your thread but I didnt read farm enough into it to see your blower build. I just got to it today, actually. I met obert at tsx club. I haven't been on there in a while because it's pretty dead. Anyways, if I had known he was selling I most likely would've bought your kit because I'm not sure when mine is shipping out yet.

I have a skunk2 race "header". I'm going to use that bung as I don't have a secondary o2. Plus, the wideband will replace that anyways because it's going to be wired into the ecu.

Also, did you ever figure out the clutch and flywheel situation?

If I remember correctly people were having issues with the crank sensor because of lighter flywheels from the 06+ si's?

I have had zero issues with my rsx/SI flywheel but I'm only n/a. I believe joe was pretty happy with his new setup as well. I don't think you have another option as I'm sure it won't be long when all that added torque rips through your stock clutch. I changed out my setup at around 95k due to severe lockout issues in high rev and couldn't see myself going factory replacement clutch when I could change both the clutch and flywheel for about the same price and go performance. My experience with exedy has always been great and always have felt most comfortable with them. They are used in 100% of Japanese cars from factory. Clutchmasters, SPEC and ACT are some that make some really good performance setups as well just usually cost more.

Do you know what flywheel Joe used?

Just placed an order for stage 2 clutch and 8th gen flywheel. The money I've spent on this build is piling up very quickly!

Yeah, you should check my thread lol its long... but literally everything you are asking is in there. It'll probably save you some time and hassle if you read through it.

I went with spec stage 2 clutch, and civic si flywheel. I did unfortunately have engine codes thrown because of the civic flywheel. I was really disappointed about that, the whole point of getting the civic one was to NOT throw a code, I could have gotten a 10lb flywheel for cheaper than OEM. Now even if I go back to stock, I won't be able to sell my car without the flashpro.

Not tryna be a jerk but... would be great if you put all your text into a single post rather than posting 4 times in a row, literally a couple minutes apart.

So is there no way to get an aftermarket flywheel without the crank sensor picking up false signals?

Or maybe, just maybe, would the civic si crank sensor fix the problem??

No way around it, mine came on in ~500mile intervals. I got put in limp mode on the highway. Goes away when you restart the car.

It's not the sensor lol.. it's the logic in the ECU that throws the code from the data that the sensor is gathering.

There may be people who are subscribed to this thread. If they are, they will get email notifications for every post in this thread. If you have a few things to say, try to say it all in one post to prevent spamming peoples' inboxes. It's not a big deal to me, cuz I'm not subscribed. But there is the potential to be annoying many others. Again, not trying to be rude, just wanted to put this out there because it's sort of common courtesy in the forums.

Gotcha! It's just that I think of things after I post and I don't know how to edit a post from my phone.

So you were getting misfires, right? Do you just disable the knock sensor or what? How'd you fix the issue?

It wasn't real misfire.. but yes the code it was throwing was misfire. You can disable it with flashpro. But again, the whole point was the civic one wasn't supposed to throw codes... other wise might as well have gotten a TRUE light weight flywheel, save money, and turn the code off anyways.

My only concern would be if the flywheel was actually making the motor misfire. That would not be cool

tsxronald used an oem rsx type s flywheel paired with a stage 2 exedy clutch. He said that's what fixed the issue but I have no clue if he even has the car still

The civic/Rsx flywheel still saves us a few pounds from factory, and still performs like a factory (dual mass) flywheel should.. Aluminum (single mass) flywheels are not exactly ideal for daily driving, so you still made a good choice joe. I found my Rsx flywheel through LKQ for 100 bucks and had my bud resurface it for free (they can be resurfaced anywhere from 40-60 bucks from most capable shops).

Aftercooled+smaller pulley. He custom fitted a merc aftercooler. I know joe said this already buuuutt... If you are serious about CT supercharging it's a must that you check joes thread. He's not blowing smoke up your ass, every single question you have asked here is in his photo build. Shame on us I guess, we keep answering every one of your questions.
