CT-Engineering Releases the Supercharger

lol, non of the ish on that site is for the integrated header ridden k24z7...only way you'll be able to piece a turbo together is to leverage the kit that full race makes for the 2012 si -- and that's not out yet, plus you'll have to custom fab plumbing for the intercooler.

If you make your own turbo, you gotta set money aside for shit to go wrong anyway. You might blow the welts of your intake ![Snicker](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/emot-laugh.gif)
I'd rather spend $4500 for the peace of mind. i don't think i've ever heard anyone ruining a car with the CT-E SC

^and create a custom motor mount...just found that out
The full race turbo kit, someone mentioned that it will drop into the tsx, but a different engine mount in the rear is needed to make it a true plug and play kit.

And, lol, we CU2'ers get the s/c for $500 less than the previous gen tsx'ers.
#47
yea, if hondata gets released, I'll consider modding the tsx...i'm still on the fence right now. Also would be curious to see how much of an improvement the s/c makes on an auto trans tsx.

here's what it does on a 1g:

If $5000 will net north of 250WHP with tune and bolt ons, it's worth it. If your goal is to go beyond 300WHP, I would just save up my lunch money for something faster with RWD or AWD.

Much better investment than buying a supercharger for a car that was not designed to be a sports car. If you want a sports car, buy a Porsche 911, or if your on a budget an M3, anything else is kind of a joke. Acura makes a good daily driving grocery getter, trying to make it anything else is stupid.

Throwing a CT SC on the TSX is not trying to make your TSX a sports car. It's just giving you some more power to make your DD a bit more fun. Not like your trying to go fast. A lot of people have a second car for that. Some true enthusiast have to mod anything they touch. Why not have a quick DD that makes cool sounds!

I'm running the CT-E kit on my 07 TSX, flash pro dyno tuned at 4 pounds i can tell you it is a completely different driving experience. Everything is amplified, it doesn't feel like there is some external force giving you surges of power, but more like your engine is just juiced up - everywhere in the RPM range, power is immediate, and the sound is absolutely incredible.
Checking with CT-E if they are using a new pulley to get 6 pounds out of this one or if it has to do with the manifold design - i'd like a little more but not sure my AT would handle the 8 pound pulley thats available.

The i4 guys get all the good stuff
I would love to run an s/c but engine management is a bitch the jnrecu hasnt been successfully used on a j3xz yet and I currently have no funds to be a guinea pig as much as I would love too haha should be done with my bolt ons in about a month though and be at around 275whp conservatively only nuisance is my damn CEL that pops up and kills power sometimes in the middle of a freeway run if any i4 s/c guys pop in cali I would love to run with you guys maybe we can pick on some wrx's and evos together

I do not recall, but when it comes on again ill screen shot it. Its not a permanent dip just temporary like it ruins the current run but then it is gone just a pain not a big deal lol

then something else is going on.
and the pcd's are not causing it.
with an 02 sensor bad or going lazy, you'll get bad gas mileage but not a power decrease.
you might want to get that checked out.
your engine might be pinging or knocking which causes the ECU to pull timing. which can cause a slight dip in power.

yep haha I hope someone adapts the jnr to the j3xz I've emailed them and since I am not local it is not viable for me to test for them unfortunately.

Get's the groceries with the kids in tow just fine. 330+ HP makes it sporty enough.

Burning Brakes
Question sir, is that the k24z3 motor with CT? I would like to be in the range of 330 to 350 hp, if it's via turbo or S/C is acceptable, but I want to make sure whichever route I go I will be able to reach the goal easily. I have flashpro and down pipe already. Have held off on anything else as going T/C vs. S/C will be different what parts are needed (except for different exhaust... but you know what I mean)

Very true, but things like the suspension and transmission were not designed to handle a car with that much power. So in essence it would be fun for a while before you had problems such as tranny failures, a car that didn't handle as well as what should be considered safe for that kind of power, and possibly engine issues due to pistons and cams that were not designed for that much torque. I do know these Japanese cars are built better than most others, but an endeavor like this just seems as though it would be a constant money pit.

Either way, whatever you choose to spend your money on is by-and-large, relevant to you and you alone. Just saying. Now for me, I buy gun stuff all the time. I did a quick mod up of the car about a year ago and since then I haven't touched it. But only because I'm toying with the idea of a sports car. I tend yo be the type to tinker with anything and everything I own. Like for real. Few things i own are left untouched.
So I say screw it. If you want to mod then mod away! I'd rather have a fast enough car to get away from the NASCAR zombies when shtf. Just saying.
