CT-Engineering Cat-Back Exhaust

Here are some pics of the exhaust system. It is still in development so they may make changes. No power figures yet, they will be doing all the dyno work on my car this week.

High & tight, I dig it.

For some reason, I really like how the cans are canted a little bit outboard.

If it's like their other stuff, chibianh, it will be deep & quiet & if it doesn't make power, they don't produce it. If it's too loud for one's taste, they usually offer inserts that can be easily & quickly removed.

been waiting for the Comptech exhaust for a while... Hope the price isn't ridiculous like every other exhaust that's available on the market right now

No dyno's or sound clips yet. I should have both from CT-E towards the end of the week. If they don't get it for me I will post them when I get my car back. I hope for around x-mas.

I think it's just the angle of the photo shot that doesn't show where both cans are rotated slightly outward. Is that what you mean?

Go look at a 99-02 TL-S or 01-03 CL-S (with stock exhaust) and if you look closely enough I think you'll find the stock cans aren't exactly level either. I forget which one was up or down, but I noticed it on enough of them to remember that.

Sorry but I still haven't done a good sound clip yet. The exhaust system that they put on my car is going to be a little different than the one that they are going to produce. With that said I don't know if I should just wait until they start to produce them for a more accurate sound clip.

damn. TSX guys are getting ALL the CT-E love!!!

I Love CT-E products. I had their exhaust on my 1st 3G TL.... loved it. Best sounding exhaust possible, without going overboard

I like how it still looks very stockish.

My concern is the sound, which I'd want no change. I don't want a loud exhaust, something identical in sound to the stock system that can produce more power would be perfect.

The exhaust should be out in about a month to two max. The exhaust tips are only 4 inch. The factory exhaust tips are a little over 3 inch. There is not a hugh difference looking at a stock tsx compaired to mine. I still don't have an accurate sound clip as mine is not silenced as the production model will be.

How much to ship to Victoria. I suppose I could always pick it up when I come down in June and ship my factory one back. That way I would be shipping a less expensive used part.

The exhaust made no horsepower gain by itself. It made an 8 whp with my supercharger. They tried every differnt way possible with no luck. I can't imagine that any exhaust system will make any power on this car.

It's pretty normal for a na car not to make any additional HP with a cat back. I've always been of the mind that if you buy an exhaust for a car that is na it's for the sound and sound alone.

Really...I would have thought that it least had some type of a shorty exhaust manifold. I guess we learn something every day. Ty for clearing that up. Guess that leaves me to keeping an eye on the CT catback.

What you would consider a exhaust manifold/header is now integrated into the head. This was done to place cat close to head for fast pre-heat/warm up . Only thing you could do is make free flowing down pipe/cat but there not a lot of room there . Here a pic of down-pipe/cat which at top bolts to head . http://www.acurapartswarehouse.com/e...converter.html

Hmm.. sounds like there, as stated earlier, no chance anything will be done in that area. Anyone have some sound-bytes of the new CT catback ?
