Oh, I know it's unlikely to happen, I'd just be psyched if it did.

I would want the CT-E logo on it to match the logo on my supercharger intake manifold. Plus I've been looking for an excuse to ditch my Injen (which runs great with the S/C) just to change things up a little.

You guys are getting some awesome parts.

Thankfully I would think some of the foundation work done on the 1st gen afforded them the ability to tool up quickly for the 2G. I don't remember the lag time for the CT blower for the first gen, what year did you guys first get them?

I dont remember how long it took them to produce parts for the 1st gen, but I can tell you guys that it has been a long time with out my new car. Remember that I sent them my 2g the first week of December. I am dying to get it back. It dosen't seem fast enough to me.

I'd much rather wait and *know* that it's 100% instead of rushing to market with 1/2 systems, but it also sucks to wait.

That is why I was looking at there dyno sheet. My car put down more power stock than there TSX did with the intake installed. They also use a dyno with rollers which tend to by off as much as 10%. CT uses a dyno that bolts right to the hub with the wheel removed.

I do not believe that they will be making anything new for that car. That was at the time they were restructuring. I have been told they will not be doing any new development on the older models.

So as of now Takeda is still the only intake/ice box available for the 09 tsx? I am anxious to get my hands on something. Just don't know what or how long to wait. Anyone have suggestions?

Right know as far as I know the Takeda is the only intake available. The CT-E Ice box still has not gone through CARB cert. So it might still be a little ways out.

Aem is working on one that will be out soon as well. Has anyone heard that AEM was bought by K&N? I heard a rumor that they were.

I received this email from CTE. I really want to get my hands on one. Does anyone know if it will be cheaper then Takeda?
Hello,

Unfortunately we do not have a date for release at this time. However, the design and testing are complete, and the box has been give the green light for full production. Please keep checking our website for updates and details. Thanks for considering CTE.

Seriously doubt it. If budget is you primary concern, you'd probably be better off with a different product.

Arm yourself with information on the different style intakes, their features, benefits and shortcomings, then decide on what works best for *you.*

I am sure that they will release it as soon as they can. I think that they know that there is a lot of people waiting for it.

Read this thread first https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-tsx-performance-parts-modifications-299/cold-air-intake-installed-711957/

Then the one we're posting on now.

In short, yes, the icebox is a style of Cold Air Intake.

I'm sure this intake will be in the $300 range.

Is there any feedback on what the intake sounded like and how loud it was?

I'm after a sportier sound but nothing quite as extreme as running the stock setup with the resonator removed.

It's muffled and very close to stock at cruising load/rpm. With a judicious amount of throttle, it does get progressively and significantly louder, particularly at VTEC, not unlike the stock box sans resonator.

Smile

I can't really give any feedback on the sound of the Icebox. I can't here it over the whine of the supercharger.

Thanks guys.

I guess this is likely to the quietest aftermarket option. Incidently I heard from the Honda NZ that apparently Mugen didn't make an intake for the CU2 due to the desire to keep noise down. After running Mugen intakes on my DC2R/DC5R I was a bit disappointed.

Cheers David.

Merry Xmas everyone.

You are all very informative people. I just joined the forum, and have learned so much already. I believe the intake from injen is available. Any word about the icebox? Also does anyone have a soundclip of the icebox? Looking to get something soon. Thanks
