Axion Industries (Question)

i remember a while back Axion was talking about having some cams in the works for us K24Z3 guys....anyone know if there are any updates on that?

or if someone can "tag" Axion so they can answer...i don't know how lol

I talked to him about this a few months ago.

They ran into problems because our current cams are hollow. I believe they were either having machining problems, or weld burn through... can't quite remember.

hmm...they can't make solid cams? why are ours hollow? that sounds crazy to me...

The cams are hollow to lower the amount of inertia. Lighter cams take less energy to spin.

This is not a new thing.

See Axion is on top of it..

Main goal of an automotive engineer= Increase Strength, Lower weight, Cut Cost!

Hollow Cams still have strong cores, reduce weight, and need less material which in turn reduces raw material cost.

We were doing a welded regrind which didnt work out and the next option was to do a billet test cam. With the expense of those we put it on the back burner and working on other items. I just heard that Drag Cartel is looking for a 9th gen civic si for testing a set... So its looking better
