2010 TSX V6 - Replace DRL with HID (8000k)

Did the search for this, but didn't come up with the result I was looking for.

I was looking to replace my daytime running lamps with 8000k HID bulbs. I like the whiter/bluer look compared to the yellowish look of the stock ones.

Is the a "how to" anyone can point me to?

Impossible, from what I know/read.

Since the DRL is just the high beam bulb, with less current going into it, i think that means that it wouldn't work on HID

Do you have a recommended bulb for the fog lights as well?

depends what color you want for yellow you can get nokya bulbs no hid kit needed
if you want fogs to match stock low beam you will need 4300k and then you need hid kit

I doubt HIDs will work, when I put my oscilloscope on the DRL output(unloaded) it was about a 100Hz 12V(battery power) square wave signal with 20% duty cycle(if I remember correctly) so that's like 2.4V average. That isn't going to light a HID ballast. High beam activated is just straight 12VDC though

TSXkid where did you buy those? and how easy was it to install.

Also, how do they look in the daytime? are they visible at all?

LED drl's are simply plug and play bulbs. you will need a resistor to get rid of the DRL error on the dash though. they are visible during the day but also note that if you have LEDs for your drl's you will lose your high beam functionality. so if you live in an area or go places where high beams are needed, LEDs won't be helpful to you.
