When playing an iPod can the track time be shown somewhere?

I have an '09 with Tech and I can't seem to find how to show the track time either on the screen or the small temp display area. Can anyone help? Thank you.

I don't have an answer to your question, but would like to add another question regarding iPods. Is there any way to display what playlist you are currently on?

Ecalcagnino, I really don't think so.
The only time I'd ever see the track time is if I fast-forwarded the song while it was playing.

That's what I saw as well. It keeps the info somewhere or that wouldn't display either, right? What a strange omission. Between this and rain-sensing wipers I have no idea what they were thinking... oh well.

Thanks.

If you hit the Audio button once, the Nav screen display in the upper left hand corner has three blocks with the following phrase: Folder, Track, Time. Next to the time the clock ticks by. It will not show the track time in the small display above the controls unless you fast forward.

Thanks, but when playing an iPod those three blocks do not include the time display as they would with another source like a CD. I would have thought there would be a way to toggle that but I haven't found anything that does that.

Spend $20 and buy an 8G flash stick, that is what I am playing mine on, and it shows the time, that way you can use your iPod for other things.

I have an iPod just for use in my car and anything less that 100gb is just about useless. Good to know the USB actually passes that info through.

As far as I know, there is no option to view track time on iPods other than scanning back/forward. I don't know why they didn't have track time for iPods when they have track time for CDs. Makes no sense.

While playing tracks off a USB stick, I noticed that the song names do not show on the display. Rather I see Track 01,02...

Is there some way to make sure you can make the Song names appear on the display??
