Trying to find the perfect LED reverse bulbs

so i put in some spare cree led's and they were lighting up the whole backyard so i put in some 68 led's , these

2X 7443 7440 6000K Xenon White Backup Reverse 68 LED SMD Lights Bulbs | eBay

They seem a tad bit dimmer than the stock bulbs.

Today i got these in cause they looked to be dimmer than the first set if cree bulbs i got but nope....Super bright. I don't want to blind people at night.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/261580828557?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
So now my question is what am i left with? I want something 6000k in color but brighter than stock bulbs but not bright like the cree's

They're reverse lights, used to light up shit behind you so you can see at night. Unless you drive in reverse all night I can't figure out why you want dimmer bulbs.

Yeah, I want to know more about the first ones.

I wouldn't mind setting dry grass aflame with super bright reverse lights.

Yeah, my truck back up lights are much more effective than the TSX lights, would love something brighter. Lighting the dry grass.... Now we are talking. Those behind should know not to stare into the sun.

Ordered myself some of the Cree 7440 for my 2012. If you hear of lots of grass fires in the SF Bay area, could be me.

For $16 I got the bulbs, plus 10 marker lights for my truck. They are just starting to go out again. I suspect changing the bulbs will be a bigger PITA than ordering them was.

I learned my lesson on buying leds bulbs on ebay. its a hit or miss and most of the time its a miss with bulbs dying weeks after installing. Since I installed my euro rear fog lamp, I only have one reverse lamp. I bought the brightest 7443/7440 white bulb VLEDS had to offer at the time. Its so bright that they only suggest it for reverse use or the warranty will be voided. Two of these together would be nice and bright.

The camera was having a hard time picking up how bright this bulb is. Just one is brighter then two halogen and comes with warranty.

Are these hard to install? They are pricey but not having a back up camera with 20% tints is hard, so was looking into these. I assume they are just plug and play, and do i need to remove a lot of screws and what not to get into the housing?

On the drivers side, two plastic snaps hold the trunk liner in place. On the passengers, only one, but its a bit tighter cuz something else is bolted down.

Bulbs pop in real easy. (Twist and pull out. Slide in, then twist to install)

Hardest part was getting the little plastic snaps back in place correct.

10 minutes total, including taking pictures of the brightness. Other pics of the garage door don't show any real difference, I was too far away. The brake lights are still brighter than the back up lights, but it is a help

New one on the Drivers Side

I know this late, but I checked those bulbs on amazon with the "fit my car" option, and it says it does not it the TSX. I would like these as the price is a lot better than vleds, but wasn't sure how accurate amazon was.

What bulbs does your TSX take? Compare them

FYI 921 and 168 are the same socket just different wattages, maybe that's why Amazon says it it won't fit

According to what I researched, the back up light is a 7440. So, neither of what you mentioned. Do you think a 921 would fit? if so, id rather save $40 and go with the philips rather than vleds.

Probably not easily.

According to this lookup, the rear turn signal on the sedan is a 921. You can see if they'll physically fit, but I think the power draw is likely different between the 921 and 7440. Dimensions look obviously wrong:

921:

7440:

Thanks for this! Looks like I will need to go the vled route. It is either vleds, or several hundred dollars for a double din + back up camera set up.

No, 7440 won't fly unfortunately. :soory: I was speaking from my TL's experience where the bulb was a 921. I believe 921 draws more than 168 and 7440 draws more than 921, they are not compatible though.

You can also find some quality bulbs on Amazon. You can pick them from customer reviews, pictures, questions and some of them come with warranty.

i dont mean to hijack the topic but would any of these LED lights listed above fit a 2010 v6 tsx? I'm looking for some good quality, bright LED reverse bulbs since i have tinted windows and it can be difficult to see at night and i dont want to get rid of the tints. i currently have the stock lights in.

Yes. All the bulbs are the same regardless of the motor type.
