Speakers dead/no sound
Speakers dead/no sound
Hello,
I have an euro accord CU2 (equivalent to acura tsx 2G) with the premium sound system which contains 10 speakers.
However, I noticed that some of them are not working any more:
- central speaker
- subwoofer
- rear door speakers
Front door speakers + tweeters and the two rear shelf speakers are working ok, however it seems that rear shelf speakers have a lower volume than front door ones.
I have measured the subwoofer, it has 2 ohm resistance so it appears it is ok. However, with music playing, there is no signal to it on the wire. Changing from the menu "center" or "subwoofer" from -6 to +6 does nothing sound-wise.
The navigation system outputs voice ok in front, but I'm not sure it comes from the center speaker or the front doors.
Any ideas on what I can try/measure, what diagnostics to do before going to the dealer? Can I find the electronic schematics or any kind of data about the system somewhere?
Thanks.

how long have you had your car? blown speakers was an issue for the US 2G TSX. there's a TSB for it to get it fixed at your dealership under warranty. that's why i'm asking how long you've had your car. if it's still under warranty, you should head over to the dealership.
It's out of warranty, we only have 3 years in europe and mine has 3.5 years now.
I don't think the issues is blown speakers though, as there's no signal coming to the subwoofer at all. I think the amp might have blown outputs.
