does any one know if or how to have the security system arm itself without using the key fob?

thanks, I know that locking the door will arm the system, however, a real passive system sets itself, and it seems as if Acura overlooked this, along with the fact that my inexpensive GPS actually gives you the name of most streets and the highway exit # instead of just saying turn left

So does the acura navi. You just have to set the prompting to maximum. I sometimes get annoyed with how it pronounces street names, though.

It used to be that if you unlocked the car with the fob to start driving and then got out, after a short delay the system would lock the car and rearm the system. I don't know if the current gen vehicles do this anymore or not.

The system has a rearm if you unlock it and don't open a door it will re lock its self, and re arm. As for getting in and getting out then it locking its self it does not do, or there would be complaints about people locking there keys in the car all the time. that being said you can lock the door manually when you get out of the car ( like a car with out a fob ) and the system will arm its self...
