Recent decrease in Sirius XM quality/bitrate?
Hey again all...
Recently, I have noticed a somewhat significant dip in the quality of my XM Radio service. The music sounds especially tinny and scratchy now, almost as if they significantly lowered the bitrate. I compare it as if you're listening to a 96kb (which was how the former broadcast sounded) to a 32-48kb/sec...
Normally an occasional problem or reduction in sound quality doesnt prompt me to post this, but its so significant that I'm considering ditching my XM service. A few of my friends here in Portland, Oregon are experiencing the same problem. I dont think their broadcast quality is region specific, is it?
Has anyone else noticed this?

I have noticed that as well, but only on some channels...I need to raise the volume considerably higher than I used to, and you can really hear the dip in quality.
My biggest issue right now is that it is *CONSTANTLY* cutting out, even in areas it never did before and on clear days.

I have no idea what type of CD's XM radio people have but their quality isn't even FM Quality. I let that subscription expire when the original trial period expired on my car. Only feature I do miss is the NavTraffic. I find that streaming Pandora via bluetooth from my iphone sounds 10x's better than XM ever did. And soundcloud seems to have even higher qulaity (depending on the uploader) than Pandora. Although soundclouds music is pretty ecclectic for the most part. Just some suggestions when you finally get tired of the XM music source that sounds like a cheap alarm clock.

Advanced
I have the lifetime XM so I can't really cancel and do like the XM
But yes my 2010 TSX some of the stations are absolutely terrible especially KIIS FM.
Also the freaking Title and Name on the songs do not change for like 5 songs generally on KIIS FM but I've had it happen on other channels as well
This is super annoying how ghetto it sounds it all happened when they combined the Sirius and XM together
Haha I had totally forgot they says it CD surround sound quality obviously ones someone scratched the hell out of.
