Possible to disable iPhone playback from starting automatically?

I'm not sure if it's possibly something I installed on my iPhone or if it is the default behavior for a stock iPhone, but when I connect it to my system (2010 w/tech), it starts playback automatically.

I can't begin to express how sick I am of hearing the same song start *every* time I connect the thing . I know I can change it to shuffle but then it's annoying to try to listen to an album and have it shuffle the track order.

Is there a way to disable this? Does this do the same for a stock iPhone also?

Thanks.

Ok. I have been playing with my iPhone in the car for a while trying to figure out what I did to resolve this issue and this is what I did. Most of the time I like to listen to everything on my iPhone so I leave it on shuffle, When I want to listen to an album I start the album on my phone before I connect it and then I turn the shuffle off. And no it is not something you installed on your iPhone.

Thanks for the reply. Kind of a pain to have to do but I appreciate the suggestion.

OK, seriously, I have an iPod for music which stays in the console, and a phone that resides in the change pocket on my Levi's.

Don't y'all?

HD, Have you had any issues with your iPod exposed to excessive heat? That is my only issue with leaving my iPod in the car.

As sure as I type this, it will morph into molten metal like the dude on Terminator 2, but I have always left it in the car, now through 2 Florida summers. If it's going to be 98+ degrees, I may crack the windows if I think about it, but that beats having to start over listening to whatever I was listening to every time I get in the car.

If I had to pull it out every time I stop, I wouldn't bother hooking it up to begin with.

Speaking of molten metal. I have been hesitant to leave anything that is heat sensitive in my car after I left my I.D. for work in the sun visor pocket in 100+ degree heat. When i got in the car after shift it was melted. (It was a HOT summer in Austin Tx. this year)

I wound up just creating a silent 1 minute song called aaa, so problem solved (kinda).

Thanks for the tip though.
