Nav Passcode Reset

Dealing with an infuriating problem right now.

Just bought a used 2009 Tsx w/tech pkg a couple months ago. Came without the owner's manual, which I found online though of course it was just a generic one and not specific to my car. Anyway, as I was messing around with the nav system after I bought it, I noticed that I wasn't able to put my address under "Home" without a passcode. After calling around and realizing it would cost me an arm and a leg for something that seemed so simple, I figured I'd just deal with it as is.

So I get in my car this morning, and living in New England it was about 5 degrees this morning. My battery had a little trouble kicking in but the car started without much issue. But apparently the battery reset because now I cannot get into any part of the Nav system screen without entering the passcode that I do not have. I've searched online and found that there is an Anti-Theft card that has all that info, but of course I do not have that in my possession either.

Any ideas on where else I can find the code? Or the serial number? I called a dealer who said I would need the serial number to have them tell me how to reset it over the phone. I already checked my glovebox, it's nowhere to be found in there either.

Sorry this is so long. Any help would be appreciated.

Or if anyone knows how to easily reset it (I'll even deal with losing the few bits of information I've put in the system, I don't care), that would be great too.

The serial # can be located on the DVD drive in the trunk, look underneath the right hand side.

The navigation user memory can be cleared by entering diagnostic mode. Press and hold the three buttons (MAP/GUIDE, MENU, CANCEL), and keep them pressed for about 3 seconds.

1) Select Detail Information & Setting
2) Select ECU Info
3) Select Mem Clear to clear the customer's settings, personal information such as address book, previous destinations and call history.

And by the way, the battery is cover by Acura 4 yrs/50K miles free replacement warranty, I got mine replaced (free under warranty) last month after 2 1/2 years as it failed the load test.

Great ... thanks for the reply. Just to confirm, would that "Diagnostic Mode" also clear the passcode? Or should I call the dealer first to get my passcode before going through with that?

No, you still need the passcode.

the battery is under warranty in the US for 4yrs/unlimited mileage. The battery was replaced free by the acura dealer on my 06 tsx when it had over 90,000 miles but it was less than 4 years old at the time.

Thanks.

I had on 05 TSX w/Nav. Besides the NAV passcode, I had a passcode for the XM radio.
