Line out converter problem
Line out converter problem
I hooked up my Amp and subwoofers this afternoon, Ran all power remote etc. Amp powers on so i moved onto the line out convertor im using a PAC line out converter tapped the rear 6 x 9's and then rca's out of the LOC. hooked up RCA's to the amp and no sound from the subwoofers? do i need to ground the LOC or is it a problem with TSX's and LOC's because of the stock amplifier. any help is appreciated!! thanks
You have a 1st Gen if you have 6x9's, I responded to your PM as well,
I have no experience with that LOC but any simple LOC will work. You will need a LOC for each sub (6x9) and you have to be careful that you get the phase correct. I recommend that you get a pair of Honda 94 ( or 93, can’t remember) and up speaker adapters and use them to connect to the factory speaker wires. The adapters will have a Black (-) and (usually) White (+) wire that you can connect to your LOCs. Your LOC will have a + and – where you connect the speaker adapter black and white. Do this for each 6x9 then connect the LOCs to you sub amp RCA jacks. Most sub amps have two input jacks L/R that are combined for the sub. If your amp only has one RCA input then you need a short “Y” RCA cable. Set your amp gain to min and adjust up from there.
If you cross phase the two sub connections you will get a very low- if any output.

Thanks so much mercman, your the audio guru for acuras. I actually figured it all out this morning i appreciate your feedback. I ran it off the rear stock subwoofer, i have a 2009 Tech package with the upgraded sound system. I twisted the negatives and the positives together so that it created one wire for each output and disconnected the stock sub and ran it off there. Sounds great! i have a power acoustik mono block amp 2000w and 2 12" kicker comp VR in a sealed box. Anything else i need ill be sure to hit you up thanks!
Ok now I’m really confused, the 2009 tech only has one sub on the rear deck, the other two speakers are the rear channel surrounds. There should have been only two wires for the factory sub, this is where you need to connect using just one LOC
If you have two 6x9s on the rear deck you have a 1st gen TSX.

Ya i used one LOC, i twisted the negative wires and positive wires on the LOC together and hooked it up off the Two wires running to the Stock subwoofer and left the subwoofer disconnected. Should i reconnect the stock sub or leave it alone.
