Ipod "Connection Retry"

Just purchased a 2010 TSX - tried to hook up 5th gen. Ipod to USB and the screen says "Connection Retry" and doesn't load up anything

Tried a friend's iphone and it seems to work fine

Was wondering if anyone knew how to fix this problem.

thx

I have the IPOD model which was the first one to have video playback capabilities. Anyway I tried listening to it in my car today and I kept on getting this fucking "connect retry" error and so the IPOD wouldn't play in my TSX. I found out that I had to reset the IPOD. I did this by toggling the lock switch back and forth one time then pushing the MENU and CENTER button down at the same time for about 6 seconds. Then the IPOD reset itself by turning dark then restarted with the Apple logo appearing.

Then I plugged it into my TSX and it worked in the car again!!!! BUT...I had to start at the beginning of my playlist again.
