iPhone 3.0 & Bluetooth Audio
I had a Samsung phone with Bluetooth Audio and it sounded horrible. I thought it was the TSX Bluetooth system, but I was happy to realize it was the Samsung Phone. I got an 3GS iPhone when they came out a few weeks ago and I am very happy with the wireless Bluetooth quality, I would say it is not CD or USB quality, but equal to or better than the FM quality. I works with the audio from the aps and movies/video's as well. Pretty cool, playing a driving game or watching a movie with the audio going though TSX's stereo cranked up (of course not while driving). The iPhone is a great device and works well with the TSX. I like how you can switch easily between the iPhone and Handsfree right from the iPhone.
have you upgraded to 3.1 yet? wonder if it fixes this. i'm going to upgrade tonight and then try it. I don't drive much anymore (live close enough to work to bike), but it still is annoying when it switches to BT audio in the middle of a song.
you can get a new one for $199 ask them about their water damage policy
I don't have an iPhone, but when I press the AUX button the display rotates between USB iPod connection and Bluetooth Audio.
I'm guessing yours is a 1st generation TSX. Does it even have bluetooth?
I don't know much about the 1st Gen TSX's, you may want to try posting in that area of the forum.
In order for bluetooth music to work, the bluetooth in your 1st gen would have to be A2DP compatible. You could have handsfree calling, but not be able to stream music over bluetooth.

Happy motoring
i hope iOS 4 and/or my new iPHone 4 will fix this!
i've read that fixes it
The Bluetooth audio still works, but I still can't control tracks or anything like that from the headunit. This is an Apple problem with their A2DP programming though.
I think the cable problem is a radio firmware issue...
I can't get my 2009 TSX Tech to recognize the iPod on my 3G iPhone either. It worked fine until I updated to iOS 4. When I plug the phone into the USB cable, I get an "Unsupported Ver" message on the car and the phone says the accessory is not made for this phone or something like that.

I think everything has to be done on your phone/device in bluetooth audio mode as the audio is merely streaming to the car.
Well, the reset seems to have fixed the connection with the car. The strange thing is at first, the car wouldn't read the info from the phone. Meaning, playlists, songs etc. were not showing up on the display. I messed around with the iPod app on the phone, and then all of a sudden everything popped up on the car. Who knows what was going on with it at first.
As for my Bluetooth question, it is definitely an Apple implementation thing. There are other products where you can use the car's controls to skip songs and what not. Maybe we will see this added in iOS 4.1?

I don't believe that it has anything to do with Apple or Acura. The A2DP spec calls for the ability to change tracks.

This is why I think it is a poor implementation by Apple. I've read in many other forums that none of the A2DP headsets available are able to control tracks on the iPhone. Heck, the screen in my car even shows the skip forward and backward arrows, yet the controls do nothing to the phone.

I have no idea if this works on IOS4, but it worked great on 3.1.3.
FYI, apparently the upcoming IOS4.1 update (not 4.0.1) adds AVRCP, so the steering controls should then be able to control any app that supports the new music player / remote hooks.
One other nice thing with IOS4 is that plugging in via USB no longer seems to kill third party music apps, so you can keep it charging but still use the bluetooth for the audio. Before IOS4, this was a pain in the ars..
