Intermittent problems

I have a 2012 TSX Sport Wagon. My nav/audio has been doing weird things lately. My radio presets disappeared. In place of a station or the preset number were zeros. Today the sound went out on the nav and the radio. Then, when I pressed the radio button to turn it off, I couldn't get it to turn back on. Finally, I turned the car off and when I restarted it all was well. A few months ago, the display showed nothing but lines and again when I turned the car off and restarted everything was fine.

My car is due in for servicing. When I discussed the above problems with one of the service reps, I was told if they can't replicate the problems at the shop, they'll have to remove the unit and send it out for repairs which could take five weeks. During that time I'd have no audio and no nav. Does this sound right?

Any thoughts about the problems?

Thanks.

Those problems you've described sound really odd. So far the only problem I've had with my '10 is the rearview camera doesn't work in reverse sometimes if I put my car in reverse right after starting it up.

Radio presets disappearing sounds like a loose battery terminal, since I've only experienced that in my truck when the battery died/terminals were loose.

Usually the dealers/shops just replace the unit instead of sending it out for repairs. Maybe try going to a different dealer and see what they say?

Does your passenger side view mirror angle down when you go to reverse?

For the right mirror to go down, the mirror adjuster thing on the drivers door has to be set to change the right mirror.

I'm confused. Does the mirror situation have anything to do with my problems with the Nav/Audio?

Hello

I'm having a similar problem as carteach. I have a 2009 Tsx (recently purchased a few months ago, my 2nd Arcura). The back up camera went out. At the same time the XM radio went out as well as the audio (sound) for the GPS. It's still under warranty so I have taken it to the dealership and have even called Acura the manufacturer directly.

Over the past 2 1/2 months the dealership has replaced many items and the problem still exists.

At first the dealer said the problem was the navigator so they ordered a new one. When that came they installed it and said the problem was still there so they put the old one back in. They then called "Tech support" at Acura who told them to replace the driver side fuse box and some back wire harness.

Well the dealership did, then I get in the car and 2 hours later, it went back to the old problem, backup camera not working, satellite radio goes out and gps sound not working.

Took it back to the dealership. They did another call to tech support at acura. Was told it's the main audio dash harness. They replaced that and swore up and down that the problem was definately fixed. Got in the car, drove down the road 2 hours later, same thing, same items not working. This time the dealer kept the car for 2 days, drove it a while, turn the car off and on several times to see if was working. Once I get it drive it for a couple of hours, it goes out.

And now I think the dealership is tired of fooling with me.

Please help. Anyone got any ideas? The bluetooth works like a dream, radio and CD player work fine, but those other items go out and I'm at the point of getting frustrated and I'm not even sure if Acura knows what's wrong with the car.

Try a different dealer. It has to be either the unit or a power problem.
