God said, let there be light. So, I opened my trunk!

I bought a reel of leds from eeeeebay and completely lit up my trunk. My goal was to have no dark areas. These leds are 4300k in color temp. That means its the brightest light aka pure white. No bluish light. These come with adhesive backing too. Check it out.

I cut up three pieces. one 24 inch piece and two 12 inch pieces. I wired them up like so and ran the wires to the factory trunk bulb harness.

Here is a night shot. Its perfectly bright.

I thought about doing this, but have been lazy. I dont like that there's only the one small light in the trunk. Looks good.

Look up HKESUPPLIER on eBay. A reel of blue is $11.65 and you get 5 meters of this stuff.
The problem with blue is that it doesn't give good visibility. You can fill your trunk with blue LEDs but you won't get better visibility then 4300k LEDs.

Looks great!! For those who want a simpler solution, I too have an INCREDIBLY bright trunk.. but I changed just the trunk bulb. The bulb size is 168, but a regular 168 bulb wont be enough to achieve this level of brightness. You need to buy a 168 that has an extension/adaptor piece.

You replace the stock bulb with the 168 power adaptor, then plug that plate of LED's into it. The entire LED plate is too big for the OEM housing so I just double side taped it on the outside of the housing. I hope this makes sense...ill try and take a pic for you guys. Sorry for the thread jack!

Can you show pic of what your trunk looks like with that set up. I was thinking of getting this but wasnt sure how it would look.

I might end up doing this...the only white lights in my car are the trunk and vanity lights and i feel my trunk light is lacking, so this may be a good solution to my problem!!
