FYI: Window hits aftermarket speakers

Currently, well, been for the last couple of weeks, putting a new sound system in. The TSX disassembles very very easy.

Just as a FYI, you may want to find some speaker which have a similar depth as factory. You window will not roll all the way down and will hit the new speaker. Just a heads up.

Hey, got any tips on disassembling the rear door? If it really is easy I want to try and pop a dent out.

BTW, what kind of system are you putting in?

Thanks in advance.

Taking the door panel off? There are two screws behind the handle. Where you grab the door from the inside to close it, pop the rubber thing off and there are two screws in there. Hmmm... I think thats it. Then, just disconnect all the wires. The door handle pops right off. Such a well built car.

System: Alpine Speakers and Amps, JL and Kicker Subs (I'll show you later), 140 pounds of dynamat..., sound processor. Just throwing things on as I go.

Actually, haven't gotten there yet. Have the rear speaker out, but not the sub. Shouldn't be too hard. I'll let you know next week. I only have one day, 6 hours, per week to work on my car. It's coming along so nicely.

140 llbs of dynamat? Wooohooo!

That thing is going to sound like a vault, gotta dig it.

Also, thanks for the heads up on the door speakers, as I'm probably going to forget about having the originals replaced again.

I don't know how much interference you have there but is it possible to use a spacer of some sort to move the aftermarket one away from the window regulator yet still have enough room between the cone and the back of the door panel?

This will be a good thread to follow, thanks.

I don't know about every speaker but it needs a good 1/2 inch to clear my aftermarket ones. A spacer wouldn't do me much good.
