You may or may not know this but the iPad's Camera Connection Kit allows for a whole bunch of stuff to happen, including acting as an audio-out port.

I currently have a 32GB 3G iPad and my Camera Connection Kit is coming in the mail from Apple (August 3rd ... crazy right?)

What I am looking to find out is whether anyone with the iPad + Camera Connection Kit + Acura TSX with USB AUX has tried playing video on the iPad with sound ported out to the car speakers.

I have a 17 month old that loves watching Sesame Street but hates car rides ... if we could show her Sesame Street video on the iPad and have the audio come out of the car speakers, we would be in complete bliss! Can anyone help prove whether or not this works?

 

I tried connecting my ipad to the USB port but i got the "not supported" message. However, you should be able to connect the ipad's headphone port to the TSX's aux in.

Another way is to connect the ipad to the tsx using bluetooth audio. You need to pair the ipad to the car like if it were a phone.

 

Ya but did you try using the camera connection kit?

 

I did not yet receive my connection kit!

 

Found out that you can pair the TSX with the iPad via Bluetooth and have video showing on the iPad and the sound through the speakers ... BUT it's not exactly synced. The sound is about 1 second behind the video ... I guess the camera connection kit is the next thing to try

 

Got the camera connection kit today and connected the iPad to the TSX via USB ...

Nothing.

Did not recognize the iPad ... just said 'No Data'. Booooooooo

I was really hoping for digital audio sound out of the iPad but I guess I'm stuck getting analog audio out of the headphone jack
