Battery drain

I am posting this question here and in Problems and Fixes.

I had to buy a new battery today for my 2012 TSX wagon with tech package. While the battery was getting installed, I found out there is something is draining my battery. I've checked for the obvious with no luck. I called the Acura dealer and will be bringing the car in text week for them to figure out what it is. The service person I spoke to said she had seen some cars where the Bluetooth drains the battery and if that's so the only fix is for the Bluetooth to be disconnected.

Has anyone has experience with a battery drain? If so, what was causing it?

TIA

Not me personally, but I read someone had an aftermarket car charger plugged into the USB port and it was causing all sorts of issues like TPMS getting thrown off. You have something plugged in? Try driving without your phone charger for a bit to see if it helps (if you have one).

Funny that you mention it. I thought of it the other day and have started removing the charger when I turn the car off. I assume any repair shop can test to see if there's a drain on the battery. So will check before I schlep all the way to the Acura dealer.

Wouldnt your issue be covered under warranty or are you over on mileage??

All 3 of my TSXs needed batteries after 2 years. If there was a drain it would discharge the battery when it sat for a long time. Since this just started it sounds more like another bad battery than an electrical problem. Once they install a new battery you will be good for another two years, than you will have to install a larger aftermarket battery.
