from what i am "assuming" i don't think he has oem navi, because he has the backup sensors on his rear bumper, if he had oem navi he'd have back up camera and there wudn't be a need for those sensors. but nontheless awesome!

Yeah... for real. How did you integrate everything? Or did you just bypass all the controls? I'd love to put a navi screen right there. That was something I liked a lot about the 1G. What brands did you use? Did you scrap the original amp too? Tell me! I must destroy this factory crap!

I was fed up with the factory 6 CD ELS radio, and the crappy speakers that came with it. I removed the entire radio (which was linked to the front airvents). Had to cut those out to remove the entire radio. A custom plate was built, to fit the Kenwood 8034btm unit. I also removed ALL speakers and did a full upgrade, including the optima yellow top 75ah, 975CCA.

The UNIT has seperate modules for NAV (garmin), reverse camera, etc etc. Will be getting these in the next 3 months.

Video quality is amazing, so is the sound. The amount of control that you have on each speaker, through the deck is brilliant. I did leave the CENTRE speaker in though, as this deck has a seperate channel dedicated to it.

It has a built in 13band EQ, as well as 3 5v outputs.

To give you an idea of the sound, um... The windscreen wipers jump up and down when the system is cranking. Still a few more mods to do, but I will keep you boys posted.

What was once a luxury sedan, is now becoming a car that makes your adams apple spring into your upper throat everytime the stereo comes on!

The top screen still works - only displays the graphics relevant to the aircon. Nothing else anymore - which is fine by me.

At the point, the steering controls dont work (volume and track changing), but there is a module to link the deck to the steering.

Thanks Ed!

Wow, I am speechless Greg. Excellent job, post more pics as you finished putting all the other pieces together (including reverse camera and garmin).

BTW, your country did an amazing job hosting the World Cup.

Thanks mate! It was awesome, we actually went into depression after the world cup - there was nothing to do... Just spent the past 6 hours washing and cleaning up the car - now she looks and smells great!

Will take some more pics and post... I am learning how to operate the Kenwood 8034BTm unit, its amazing! The surround sound is out of this world!

I sat in the back, had the remote control and was watching Transformers! The way the different channels produce unique sounds, I am in awe! As for the subs - it gives you such a kick in the back, I struggle to sit completely back on the seat without getting thumped forward!

Guys, its quite a tricky job to do, but my recommendation:

ANY DUDE WHO LOVES HIS TSX/CU2 MORE THAN HIS CHICK/WIFE, this is a must!!!! Im falling in love with her, all over again... Oh, and my INJEN CAI has arrived as well, so will be fitting that too soon. Will def post pics.

Cheers boys.

Whole system, inluding fitment costed me about USD8000.

I will be rearranging the trunk, and move the amp and capacitor to the rear (try to get a wee bit of space )

Took a drive out on the town last night, playing David Guetta's Sexy B!tch DVD - I kid you not, the ground was trembling beneath me. She attracted quite a big crowd, people asking me if the HU is a factory fit... They cant believe its aftermarket and fitted into a trim plate.

Ed, if you are gonna go with the Double Din, stick with Kenwood mate, its really the best in the business!!

The greatest challenge was running 0gauge power cable from the Optima Yellow top in front, all the way to the rear...

I am spending time this weekend redoing the split system in front (Infinity Kappa series). The hu has such precise surround sound, as well as the SRS WOW function, that when watching movies such as Avatar, you are right in the centre of the action. You hear sounds that you wouldnt normally notice on another system, the attention to detail is just mind blowing!!! The sub woofers are competition series, so its not just good clean bass, its destructive bass as well (which I live for )

The bluetooth unit has a phonebook at a glance, touch calling, voice recog etc. Much more refreshing that the stock bt system.

Airconditioning is not affected at all. The controls are still in place, and the display screen still works fine. Only sacrifice is the steering controls, but well worth it!

haha anyway you can hook the steering controls with it as well? that would be awesome!

also, when u mean steering controls, do u jsut mean the volumn and channels switch? or everything, including bluetooth, mode, and cruise control?

Ed, all the controls on the left of the steering are no longer working - the mode, channel, volume etc. There is a module to intergrate everything though, but dont really have the need to just yet.

Spending more time this weekend doing the following:

Upgrading the front splits to Infinity Kappa
Putting Sony Co-Axils on the rear doors.
Pioneer Super Tweeters at the rear.
Re-setting the trunk set up.
Retuning the amps.
Using 0Gauge Ground cable to ground the amps.

As for exterior, I have a very very exciting few mods to do. I am sure you guys will like it when I am done, give me 2 weeks. I'l post sneak peaks as I go along...

I have just installed the Infinity Kappa's, and once again reminded how sh!tty the ELS setup really is. In terms of the layout of the front speakers on the door panels; its just WRONG!

The cabin is designed to give maximum listening pleasure only at 1 point of the car: right where the mainscreen is, ie, where you see your aircon display, radio display etc. Heres the problem, NO BODY sits there!!!! Go ahead try it, put on your standard radio, and put your head right in the centre, next to the screen, it should sound amazing, but only at that point... Go back to the normal seating position and it sounds completely different, terrible in fact!

So now, I have to build tweeter panels that angle towards the cabin, as well as build mid panels which also angle the mids towards the driver/passenger. This will move the "listening pleasure point" from the screen to closer to the centre of the cabin - I am hoping..

Whoever designed the audio system in this car, needs a bloody hiding!!! I mean, the write up is mind blowing - talk about acoustics, cinema staging, decades of study.... BULLSH!T!
