Another USB Folder Question

'09 TSX Base.

My folder name is the album name. On the display, the folder/album name just shows up as Folder1, Folder2, etc. Individual song titles display properly. Am I stuck with these Folder1, Folder2 titles ?

I know Wndows XP can change folder type i.e. documents, pictures, photo, music, music artist, etc. Does this make a difference on how the folder name is displayed.

Otherwise, my wife and I love this car. Great value.

I know the problem

First, you need to use the enter button in the knob to get into folders. On top of that, I downloaded a free program called "Mp3tag" so I can better manage the tag information. It works well.

Thanks Ben. Works perfectly. Very impressed with the TSX's audio features. Makes mp3 players obsolete.

MP3 and folders

To download the software type Mp3tag in Google and it should be the first thing that comes up. This is only useful when you have missing tag information on WMA or MP3 files and you want to take the time to fill it in so you can properly see song titles and artist named in the directories.

As for folders, if you just drop individual tunes on the USB drive, you'll have just one folder. If you want to create folders, using XP and your USB connected to your PC, go to the green start button, right click, select explore and find the USB drive. Once found, click on it then go to the directory above and click "file", then "new", then "folder". overtype the word "newfolder" with whatever you want.

Just repeat and have as many folders as you like. You could go with artists or type of music. Then drag the songs in the right folders and you should have it.

There are many ways to do this, and Vista works a bit differently, so you'll have to try and see.

Also, when I rip tunes from CD's, the folders are created in Vista under the folder "Music", so that makes it easier drag the whole folder to the USB Drive.

I still don't know if the TSX can pick up the folder name rather than Folder 1,2 etc. Perhaps someone else here has that answer.
