Not that I know of, im not sure what actually sources the compass. I dunno If its the stock deck or AC module or what. Let me kno how that metra kit works out for you

yeah no problem, also got the pioneer AVH-X5600BHS. pretty stoked to get this installed and get rid of my JBL MS-8. when the ms-8 sounds good it sounds real good, so much tweaking though im tired of it. Hopefully this will alleviate that hassle.

As for the center console USB, the deck will come with a usb extension cable that is basically the same as the one that is stock in the handrest. I just popped the stock one out and routed the USB extension to the same place. It works exactly the same.

hey bro, im talking about where the vent holes are on the kit. There should be 2 places where you can put screws, one beside the vent and one below. It should be like this for both vents. My chinese kit only has a screw hole on the side of the vent.
Maybe if you could take a picture and post it that would be great... the rear bottom area that is.

Its pretty simple as long as you read the instructions carefully. I went over it a couple times before i understood correctly.

yeah i got the metra kit and wiring harness and PAC for i think 90 overall after shipping, ebay is your friend when it comes to the accessories for installation, now the HU i ordered directly from a reputable site, i think newegg.com

well its in, for your pioneer deck danny, what did you do for the aux and usb connection? were you able to use the existing connections? What about your XM radio can we use the stock receiver and just buy an adapter? also what adapter did you use for your antenna? the scosche adapter i got doesnt fit.
ALso what Trim did you use? mine HU didnt come with any extra trim

Does PAC give you good control of the steering wheel remote buttons? Also, can Factory Mic be connected to the pioneer unit? Which pioneer unit is this?

The PAC works only for volume up/down, channel up/down, and mode. havent figured out if it will work for the phone operations or not.

for the antenna i had to order the adapter part 'American International HO10' because the metra kit didnt come with it. FOr the Aux i just bought an aux cord and ran it to the center console, did the same with the USB.
The PAC works only for volume up/down, channel up/down, and mode. havent figured out if it will work for the phone operations or not.

nice i want a NEX series for sure haha but with my new setup now it is quite clear to me that my speakers are my current weakest link. need to upgrade from the jl audio C3's.

I am trying to not even think about speakers. My commute to work is not very long and I have put like 12.k Miles in 2 years. I just got the mountek magnetic CD mount and looks super clean. Might be all i need!

Not yet. I have to manually program it. I didn't do it yet because I still gave to pick up an antenna adapter. I will have it ready by this week and will let you know. I'm going to program it for ptt, hang up and receive. However mode/vol was automatically programmed.

Hey all. I have found tons of information on this forum so I decided to create a little Guide/DIY of installing an aftermarket stereo in our cars to give back to the community. I know there are several users online here that have done this install but in my research I had to get bits of information from several sources to figure everything out.
This install is not the same as installing those Chinese units that replace the top screen. This replaces the entire stock TSX radio (Non ELS/ Non tech package). As far as I know this will not work with the ELS system as the wiring is different and the stock amp does everything including EQ as well as volume control.
Please note:
Replacing the stock radio in this case retains everything with the base system. You end up using the stock amplifier and all speakers + subwoofer work. There is a world of difference in sound quality and most of all, EQ controls that are actually helpful. You can even use a HI-Pass filter to the subwoofer in the stock amplifier system. My rear deck speakers now play full range instead of just rear fill which makes everything sound so much better IMO and my stereo comes with an 8 band graphic eq which is enough for the stock system. I get clean 4V preout signals from my aftermarket deck which in turn creates a clean output from the stock amp.
Parts used:
- - Double din Stereo of your choice, I choose the pioneer avh-5500bhs as it has appmode and I can use GPS from my iphone on screen without the need for an actual NAVI type stereo.
- - Double din Frame for our tsx. I bought mine from china on aliexpress.com. Cost about $115 to Canada after all shipping+duties. It was missing two of four screw holes for the vents but still held well with just two.
- - PAC SWI-RC if you want to add steering wheel controls, which I did. You loose Bluetooth button control however. No big deal for me.
- - Metra 70-1730 Wiring Harness for 2008+ Honda accord with factory amplifier.
Install:
- - First and formost, here is a guide on how to remove your factory radio:

- - The wiring harness uses RCA’s to plug into your aftermarket deck. Two for front left and right, two for rear left and right. There is a single loose RCA harness in the metra 70-1730 kit that goes to an 8 pin connector that is used for subwoofer control from the stock harness. Since there is two subwoofer outputs (left +right) on my deck I choose one at random and I don’t think it makes a difference. Everything else is easy as there are only basic things to wire like ignition power, ground, illumination etc.
- - I routed my Bluetooth MIC to above my rear view mirror. I just ran the wire along the top headliner and through the top of the A pillar cover, to the bottom of the dash and then to my stereo. I was worried that I had to remove the A-pillar but it seems like this way worked well.

There are a few posts on this forum with how to remove the deck.. it involves breaking a pin on the rear pillars that you will need to replace from the dealer.

They also have the metra 40hd-10 model, cheaper than the one above but it only includes the one with the male connector.

yeah there is a delay... its a problem on every deck though because of the mass storage of the drive. its a lot quicker if you use an ipod
