Switched out stock deck for alpine w927hd and so glad i did. Was running aftermarket speakers/sub and sounded better but now they sound amazing. I installed two amps with mercmans harness a few months ago and it was a noticable upgrade. saw dannys post and figured i would give it a try. thank you danny and mercman for all your help.
gear equiped as of now.. alpine deck, 12' jl w7, 6 1/2 type r,jl x600 for sub, jl x400 for speakers

Don't let acura scare you with the warranty..they have to prove that the aftermarket equipment you installed caused whatever issue you have, if any to refuse service.. It's a law from the 70s.. It's called magnuson-moss..

and Dan your bezel does look a little better....Metra looks generic.

This is extremely helpful.

I was wondering how the Hell I would put in an aftermarket CD player.

It has to be Double DIN and use a Metra 95-7805 bezel to achieve these results? I've installed many CD players but this one just looks like a pain.

I'm researching specs on that CD player now.

Thanks for the post.

There is a single din dash as well... 99-7805CH
Rather easy install for double din though.

Where did you buy the double din dash for only $34? I see it for $50 everywhere.

Technically, this should work for those with the TECH package as well.

Problem is, the HVAC modes will be lost when doing this conversion on a TSX w/ tech because they reside on the tiny screen that the non-tech TSXs don't have. AFAIK, you will have to find a place to relocate the tiny screen if you want to keep displaying the HVAC modes.

Sadly I own a TSX w/ tech and I don't really feel like there's a good place to relocate the smaller screen. Feeling kind of stupid getting the tech package now... especially because the tech feels so outdated and clunky the way it works. I'd much rather have a base/SE and do this mod.

can you retain the functionality of the steering wheel buttons (volume up / down, FFWD/RWD, BT etc) with this?

I think so... check CU2 Dan's build thread. He mentions what works and what doesn't with his setup. I think the only thing that didn't work via the steering wheel was the BT.

DAMN. I have the tech package too and now wishing i didn't.... i wonder if there's any work-around for this.

Or maybe might just have to deal with no HVAC display..

i have this mod done, using the PAC SWI RC you can maintain vol up/down, channel up/down, and mode. I dont believe anyone has gotten the handsfree stuff to work as that is a different wiring setup completely as thats all handled through your dash screen and respected computer.

What about the factory Aux input in the Armrest? Can that be attached to new unit?

Is there anyway to keep the time and direction displayed on the top screen?
