Acura TSX 2010 tech aftermarket head unit or downgrade tech package
I have an Acura TSX 2010 tech package and I am honestly tired of the outdated package. I am willing to downgrade the navigation screen to those base TSX screen for the heat control if it’s possible or a newer head unit that can control our ac/heat controls as well. Someone please suggest what is the best option before I rip out the Navi and screens and just go with anything newer.

You read my mind I'm interested in this too.... not on the top of my list of things to do but definitely in consideration... I've scoured the forums but haven't been able to find any good pictures of it done right...
Apparently with the Tech Package it is very difficult? Climate controls need to be run through the headunit you're putting in... and you can retain most steering wheel controls but "bluetooth" gets lost, I take it to assume that you can no longer receive calls handsfree? But I think the voice command stuff for climate control and stuff works.
It's pretty peculiar. Also with an iPhone X also. Phone technology and hands free technology has accelerated so fast and you are trying to adapt such advanced technology to a tech system interface that is stagnant from 10 years ago. For instance I can use "Hey Siri" and voice to text and all that with an acceptable delay. But in 2010 Acura probably couldn't foresee this ever becoming a reality... I saw a few threads talking about if there is "apple iCar" (not "CarPlay" and how some iPhone 6's were acting weird. That's about the most recent thread I could find about forwards compatibility with phones. - I really dislike how Bluetooth music from my phone doesn't show song info on the screen, and streaming Spotify using the USB plug in (which disconnects as "unsupported" from my X super rarely) only shows the current song info and anything else on the playlist just has song info as "spotify"
All in all I don't mind the Tech Package... I was coming from a back up beater 2005 Accord after my 2011 Cherokee got T-Boned..... all I had was FM radio and crappy speakers so I'm more than content with a Tech/Audio system that has the basic functioning of what is on the road today
I just am a big fan of CarPlay; controlling Waze, Spotify, Siri, Texts, Calls all in one condensed unit is great. Too bad NaviTool was a complete scam and nothing else out there seems remotely comparable.
Unfortunately it's all or nothing with these models. You should either gut your car and replace everything with new technology or hang on to old antiquated gear that will eventually will stop working with your advanced phone. All good aftermarket HU's come with built in navigation (Carplay/Android auto) and impressive bluetooth capabilities that support HD calling.

I just bought a Acura TSX 2010 tech package and I would have to
Well years of owning the tech package I figured it out and might as well get a certification in the electrical field.
Not sure if I missed details how you did this via a tablet. Please consider posting details. Looks very nice/smart way instead of trying to update old system take it to a tablet an use the latest greatest bells an whistles that can dumb down to old system. I'd like to do the same in a 2013 TSX wagon that has technology package
I totally took my Tech to the next level. I took out the head unit. the cd player, and the back up/nav screen. I installed a Jensen J1CA10FL with the Metra dash kit with harness, got a non nav cubby to replace the cd changer, and the non nav upper display with the HVAC relocation harness. Couldn't be any happier with thus unit

I used the Jensen BUCAM100J and took out the stock cam and epoxied in a piece of plastic to cover the hole and mounted the camera to it and it is a much better picture quality.
