2012 navi routing
2012 navi routing
so last time i went to delaware, i was following my friend but i set the address on the navi and the 2012 navi system only has 3 options...min/max freeway, min/max tolls, and something about a ferry i think. so with the freeway/tolls at max, i headed to delaware but the gps kept telling me to take all these random freeways off the main interstate. i liked the options the 2009 navi system gave where u could select shortest route, fastest route, etc.
am i not seeing that option on the 2012 navi routing system? i'm headed up to vermont tonight after work and i prerouted it on the gps and its giving me the same shit. i just want shortest distance or fastest time or whatever. not just min/max freeway. any one have any tips for me? am i doing something wrong?

Can't say I've had the problem. Do you view the route options before you select "go"?
Do you have Nav traffic*? As you know I95/NJTP can be a traffic nightmare, maybe it was trying to save you some trouble.
*I used the XM radio script and got Nav traffic for a year at ~$30 with taxes.

yea i looked at the route options before. it just shows teh main interstates so like, I87 or I91 or whatever. but when i pick 87 which i'm used to and look at the directions, it has a bunch of little smaller highways and i'm puzzled as to why it keeps routing to those instead of staying on 87 all the way up.
Other than avoiding traffic or actually being a faster route, I don't know what to tell you. You can try your fav nav program and see how the routing compares.
Why use the nav if you know where you're going?

cuz i'm not 100% sure of the route. hahah but yea i printed out google maps directions just in case. hopefully after i ignore all the navi's directions to exit at the other highways it'll "learn" to not give me those directions the next time i go up.
