I apologize in advance for another thread like this, any help is very greatly appreciated.

My subwoofer seems to be blown, it makes a rattling noise whenever the bass hits. I was wondering if anyone knew the make and model of the stock sub that comes with the tech package, and if it can be purchased anywhere online?

I called an Acura dealership up here in Canada, and they quoted me $350 for the one sub and labor (complete rip off).

Are you out of warranty? I've had mine replaced on my 2010 3 times now. You should ask them for a "good will" replacement if you are out of warranty. Look here: http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org It's listed at 176.05 plus shipping and handling. Great site and it uses the Acura Parts catalog.

 

Or you could see what the stock size is and replace it with an aftermarket one taht will never cause you problems....i gave mine to a speaker guy and he replaced all of my speakers with Alpine Rs.....couldnt tell you the size or anything im not a speaker guy, but it sounds way better and i have never had one blow since and this was 30 thousand miles ago

 

thanks for all the help, the reason why i don't want to put an aftermarket 8" sub is because i did some research and i dont think the factory amp is powerful enough for it. i'll check out that website though thanks alot

 

and as for the warranty, i live up in Canada and the car is a US car, i called the acura dealership and they said im out of luck when it comes to warranty :S
