I have the 2.4 CU2.
Premier HU with 10 speaker system (incl subwoofer).

I want to upgrade the entire system - perhaps use a JL Audio Cleansweep unit. I have read some threads which state that DSP is not possible with this HU. Please help

 

lol good luck. i dont think there are anyone with major upgrade on the sound system. theres a few with minor upgrades, but nothign like a complete system upgrade. i say..if u reli want that. ask a audio shop?

 

My only concern is that in order for the Cleansweep to be effective, the HU needs to be giving off FULL RANGE SIGNAL and now just midrange, or high/low signal.

I know on the base model, the signal is full. But on the Premier HU, not sure if this is the case...

 

What’s a 2.4 CU2?

If you have a base 2nd gen TSX then you don’t need a clean sweep if you take the signal off the HU. If you have the ELS then you can’t use the HU signal (not yet anyway) but a clean sweep will likely go bonkers with the output of the ELS amp.

The other issue is that some 2010s have active noise cancelation that you will lose if bypass the factory amp.

I will have an amp bypass solution for the 2nd gen base that includes the option to keep or defeat the ANC soon. I am also nearing the end of the design phase of the ELS amp bypass, this is more complicated but since I have an ELS I have been spending most of my time on it, l have the base system solution all worked out I just have to do the PCB and enclosure design work.
