WTF ACURA??? My 2012 TSX Steering Wheel Cracking Out

Wow, I think they scored a little too deep for the Airbag. I'll have to take it in and get it replaced under warranty. Anyone else have this issue?

I'm sure its the combo between heat and cold, but come on. My 2004 TL had the dash crack out and my wife's 2007 Honda Odyssey showed the score lines, never cracked through though. I don't see any other manufacturers having this issue. Not like just just started to get hot or cold....lol. Plus this year wan't all that hot in Nebraska.

Sorry that you have the issue with air bag. I too have a 2012 TSX Tech but I have been lucky and have not had one problem with car so far! It's been to dealer twice to have oil changed. It's been the best car that I have owned so far.

Nah no warranty anymore
and even if it was I doubt they would replace it since my dealer likes to give me a hard time about everything.

Must be something with Acura dealers. I'm sure I can't take mine in until I get my stereo completely finished. They will blame the crack on a missing kick panel...lol.

They actually tried to blame an issue I was having with my tpms on the missing plastic in the back messing with the radio frequency of the sensors (then tried to charge me for the diagnosis since the plastic was gone)....lol.

Mine don't show weird PSi readings though, they just randomly say system failure or sometimes dont work, start flashing...etc.

I don't think it's cracked, might just be how the air bag cover is, because my cover has the same groove...

^^ I'm not totally sure but it seems to me like I get more warnings and TPMS fuckups when it's cold outside.

Piece of shit system.

I've had TPMS issues as well on my 2010 TSX it randomly tells me System Function Error and all the pressures show as --

Then I turn off the car and it goes away it was happening all the time in the winter, not so much now but still sometimes mainly on freeway.

I had all my sensors replace and it's still happening. I broke open the old TPMS and the batteries after 4.5 years were all around 50% of life.

I just clicked File a Complaint at nhtsa.gov to me it's a safety concern since I now ignore the TPMS anytime it comes on.

Happened once or twice when I had my stock wheels on, new wheels in the trunk/back, and second set of TPMS in the glove. Although this is likely unrelated to your problem, I think having a second set of TPMS nearby will screw with the system.

They changed the TPMS system btw in the 11+. Probably cause of all the issues...

You think???

I had issues with my first TSX where the TPMS would sometimes (but not always) lose connectivity when driving the same road. I figured it was some external device (garage door opener, radar etc.) that was the cause because whenever it happened it was ALWAYS in the same location.

Lol funny thing is, I was anticipating TPMS-related issues on the way back (on my new set of wheels/tires/TPMS). Really tripped me out when I started experiencing the issue on my way there.

Oh, I also had a couple wheels on my front passenger seat, and no the seatbelt was not on. Yes, the passenger air bag light came on

I drove around for a few days with the 4 TPMS for my new wheels in my trunk with no issues. Also on my road trips to Houston I carry one of my wheels in the trunk to use as a full size spare. I've never had any issues with mine. My oem wheels are also stored about 5 feet from my car in the garage.

whut

how does it give us readings when the car is stopped/parked? you mean the vehicle just keeps displaying the latest value in memory and is simply not getting any updates from the tpms?

Yeah might be -- or 0. I can't remember.. but one of the 4 readings were skewed to that point (-- or 0) when I had 4 other TPMS in my glove compartment.

So what does that mean for the spare tire? Not sure if it has TPMS or not, but assuming it does................

You may well be right - I have never needed to use the spare - but that would mean a TPMS message/light on the dash if you did. Again this could be correct, but just thinking outside the box, if you have to use your spare, I'd imagine the last thing you would want to see on the dash is a TPMS light.....
