From WRX wagonnette to TSX wagoneer

I had a 2002 which was rammed on the freeway from behind recently and destroyed. It was in great shape and I didn't think I'd ever get rid of it, but I guess all is ephemeral. When I bought the WRX I didn't have kids, a dog, or a regular 3 hour drive on the Interstate twice a week. So I got it for fun, some carrying and snow utility since I live in the mountains, and my own arrested development, but now I'm 14 years older and life changes. I'd also acquired a funner fun car since then, a used Miata for fair-weather local fun.

I'd thought about a replacement, but never sure what- a Ford Focus ST? Another WRX or larger Subaru? Or a TSX wagon? I didn't want a small hatch, a sedan, or an SUV/ Crossover. When the accident forced me to really consider what I wanted and could afford, I thought about the post-lease TSX wagons I'd seen advertised, found very few nearby, but one worth checking out, and immediately liked it- good pull, good handling, nice interior, beautiful outside. I can even accept the slight Acura beak. For the benefits of slight luxury and Honda quality, it came out to be a better deal than a Subaru, which holds too much value! The unpopular wagon limited my choices, but I found a good one with just under 60k miles for a decent price, so jumped on it, and couldn't be happier. I could be richer, but oh well......

I love it. Great space, comfortable highway cruising, better mileage than the WRX or Miata, amazing ELS sound, quiet and smooth, fast (enough), and just freaking beautiful. I'm still learning about it, and hope to replace the rotors and pads next year and get a roof rack. Although the brakes need some work, and a CD/ HD/ XM/ Nav system is a little dated, I love this, the last Japanese wagon. I just hope there aren't any issues I have to watch out for.

Welcome TSXWagoneer! Did you know EndlessRPM is making a wagon specific cat-back? It's true.

It's funny, there's nothing wrong with the TSX, but it doesn't feel like my car yet. I think it's the lack of personal engagement in an automatic, which I've never owned before, that makes it feel weird. As good as autos have become, I really prefer manuals.

Lol it's more of an inside joke with the other acurazine members haha.. I boosted my TSX over 2 years ago and for the past year I have been trying to get into an STi. So these guys know how much I comment about getting one lol.. and here you are doing the opposite!

Anyways... I've got my eye something else for 2017, and I'm excited to stay in the "Honda-family"

That vacuum option is actually pretty badass

Just need to add nice wheels, bags, and a supercharger

i figured, just curious. I did get used to AWS, that sweet rally blue, and powah, I'm just at a kids, dog, and paranoid about getting hit at high speed in a small car by another idiot phase of my life, so I went the other way.

I wish I had the sweet Odyssey vacuum- instead I have the lame TSX compressor!

I'd take an 05-10 Ody with any nice Honda/Acura 18"s, in dark blue or maybe burgundy, and with the touring package...

Nice, decent handling, easy entry and exit, more space than a Suburban inside, oh, did I mention, hot as heck!!!
