Whining Noise

Guys, I have searched high and low for the name of a part. I've had to resort to creating an account to see if someone could help. I've been to Auto Zone, and all others similar. Auto Zone sold me an Idler Pulley, this is not the right part as it is slick and I need a pulley that has belt grooves. I have a 2009 Acura TSX, I know where the noise is coming from and what needs to be replaced, but can not locate the name of the part anywhere. The closest match I have found is, Accesory Belt Idler Pulley. The pulley I need to replace is the top one, here are a few pics I have. On the chart pic, it is #7.

That's an idle pulley. part # 31190-RL5-A00 or 31190-RRA-A00 assuming it's a 6 speed.

Have you tried spraying belt w/ water mist?

If noise temporarily stops, the belt is generating the noise, not the pulley. It can be maddeningly difficult to distinguish noise sources.

A similar whine on my 06 TSX was fixed w/ a new belt.

good luck

Same sound I had turned out to be the A/C clutch bearings. Replaced the bearings under warranty and noise is completely gone, when it finally got loud enough they kept the car until the part came in because they said they didn't want to see me get stuck. Must have been binding up pretty good. Just my .02.

i had a whining on my v6 tsx and it turned out to be my alternator as it finally died on me on the way to work causing a light on my dash saying check charging system.

Replaced alternator out of pocket as warranty was long over and im back on the road.
