Where do you keep your wheel lock key?

After taking delivery almost a year ago, I finally got the wheels locks put on during the first oil change.

The dealer said they had a master key when rotating tires, so I assume the thieves do as well.

For now, I have the key shoved under the passenger's seat as somebody would have to try the alarm to get to it. But I may just put it on the spare in the trunk. I'm not so sure of the effectiveness of wheel locks at all.

Nevertheless, they charged me went I bought the car, so I didn't think it would hurt to get what I paid for.

I keep mine in the trunk with the spare tire. My RDX had a nice zippered bag that attached to the wrench--wish we had those...

you want to TRY and hide it. or at least not in a typical place; if someone breaks in they could easily grab the key/

I got that bag from the dealer as well.

If someone is going to bust the trunk to steal rims then i'm guessing they have a master wheel lock or an impact wrench. All that thing really stops is passers by that (apparently) walk around with tire irons.

I had it in the spare tire compartment on my old tsx. I thought it was a bit easy to figure out but I couldn't think of any other place to put it at the time. Any other suggestions? Nate tell me your secret spot...me love you long time.

Eh.. right now I just have stock rims so it's taped to the piece of paper that says "please steal" that is taped to the rim itself.

I keep mine with the spare as well. Not matter what wheel lock you have, if the thief wanted the wheel badd enough, they'll get it. AT least that's what i hear!

if a thieft really want something, they can get it regardless of what you have. you can have a robot defending your wheels and the thieft can still manage to steal it, just a matter of time. wheel lock is to help slow down thiefts, which is what turns them away from stealing. stealing wheels means they want the job to be quick and fast, so they wont get caught. putting locks will slow their process down, increasing their probability of getting caught much higher.

I leave mine sitting at home in the garage.
No need for the key, unless you're changing tires/wheels.

I packed my wheels full of grass clippings, so if I get a leak I can still drive it home no problem.

i find wheel locks a hassle and useless, if a thief wants your wheels, they're gonna get it, all it takes if for you to misplace your wheel lock at a time when you need it most, and you're in for a world of headache
