What do you use to clean your engine?

i usually just wax it and spray it down with a pressure hoes. Do you guys use any specific product to maintain your engine to look fresh and clean.
How often do you guys clean under the hood?
Thanks!

Take a look at my engine too =))

^if you keep it maintained, you wont ever have to use a harsh degreaser product.

a pressure washer is overkill. your garden hose will achieve the same results.

I wash my car EVERY week and give the engine bay a spot clean once a week to keep it fresh.

^i assume he only waxxed the black plastics.

a degreaser will turn the black plastics a gray-ish/white color.
a product meant to take care of the black plastic like mother's back to black works wonders!
or you can use tire shine

I usually pressure wash with the soap setting at the car wash once or twice a year. I do an inspection in direct sunlight looking for spots I need to clean like around the injectors, oil cap, brake/power steering area, battery, engine block, under side of engine bay. I only spray those areas to clean and do a general rinse on the rest of the engine bay. I finish up with a spot free rinse, drive the car on the hwy for +15 minutes to dry the engine bay, double check for wet spots at home.

We don't get a lot of weather in NM and my engine bay just gets dusty during the year. I like to wash the engine bay to double-check for potential fluid leaks (A/C, brake, oil, Tranny, coolant, power steering, windshield wiper).

I usually do the wheel wells and spray the inside ends of the exhaust pipes when I do the engine bay. The +15 min drive gets the water out the muffler.

I spray a mild degreasser and then use the soap setting on my powerwasher, then powerwash the whole thing clean.

I think it works

I've been using this product for nearly 4 years and it is by far the best imo , unlike the other products out there it does not make the hoses and plastic pieces looking grayish and it is safe on paint, it is kinda hard to find but it works so good, my bay looks just as good when I got it the 1st day as the dealer.

I keep my clean enough that a damp rag is all thats needed. I put some shine on the plastic parts and it always looks like new. I wax or use detailer on the painted areas a couple of times a year.

I just use a damp microfiber cloth and wipe it down once a week or so. Stays pretty clean

Amazon doesn't sell it, so good luck finding it (looks like from the name alone that it's a south of the border product)(or may Cuba?). This is the first time ever that I haven't found a product that I was looking for, on Amazon.

This is their website : http://www.doctormecanicopr.com/

Definitely from south of the border lol. Autozone has it, but they won't ship it to the U.S. There is a Dr.Mecanico Ebay store though. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dr-Mecanico-DMX-Xtreme-Wash-Wax-4-Gallons-4-Bottles-/141049128339?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item20d72ee593&vxp=mtr
