What do you Do???
Believe it or not, in 2010 it was more dangerous to be a garbage man than it was to be a police officer, about 30 deaths per 100k vs. about 20. It's a very physically demanding job, not to mention having to smell garbage all day. So yeah, you'd better get paid a lot, or else nobody will do the job, and our cities would smell like crap (I know because my town had a garbage strike recently).
5tht2nd: I have a touchpad as well and it is not a bad device indeed. As of now, HP is no longer producing webOS devices...but the OS still belongs to them. They have a few options now on what to do with it. They can sell it..license it out to another company or just hang on to it. Sales on the touchpad were not as competitive as they thought so they left the game early because apparently that was just the best business decision for them. I am relaying this info from a meeting that took place on Oct.2nd so you can likely discount all rumors you've heard involving amazon and shit like that. HP has not made a decision yet.

...and saying that you don't do shit half the day and getting paid that much, in this economy and with the unemployment rate the way it is thats not bragging thats just being an a**hole my
Hahaha man relax!!! I started this thread to see what people do for a living because 2g TSX is not cheap... I didn't want people actually hating on people for what they do for a living... on the other hand though talking about how much you make and bragging about maxing your 401k you open urself up for it

To the garbage guy: I give you props, I don't know that I could do it. Especially in NYC. I don't even like putting out my own trash lol
As for the thread question, I'm an insurance adjuster for a vehicle fleet management company. After this year's weather problems/issues, I made my annual salary 2 months ago due to working so much OT.
I don't make 6 figures and never may, but I can honestly say I love my job.

I worked in the mergers & acquisitions group for First Union 90-96, had no life, but travelled from Key West to Baltimore, literally. Had a nice little house at 24 plus a Lightning and a 5.0 coupe in the garage. Unmarried, no kids.....those were the days.
Opened a shop in 97, sold it in 06, back in automotive, but distribution this time. Very fortunuate to be where I am, things are good.
Good to read about you guys working hard or working hard at your education.
Mobile & Web application developer. Started freelance in my Sophomore year of high school and now Founder of PixelBit.
Edit: To those posting salaries, its beyond bragging really, its actually borderline-douche. No offense to any one person, just saying whatever you "take in" per year should only be of concern to you and your family, if you have one.
Live life and enjoy what you do.

You volly in VA? They just upped the emt-b course to 6 months in jersey, and took away the refresher course fund so we gotta pay for it. Yet we could afford Whitney Houston's fuckin funeral...
I work in the Security Dept. for IBM.
Also a full-time student majoring in Liberal Arts, mainly because I don't know in which direction I want to go as of now.
I would like to study Computer Enginnering or anything computer related that will potentially bring in good money and isn't too boring. Any suggestions?
I am also in the business of buying and re-selling sneakers. LOL. Or anything I know I can make a profit from.
Life is great.

10-4. Looking to get paid, but I'll always volunteer. Our hours just went up, but we're going to a 'sign off' recent...no test, no practicals--get your 32 CE hours and your OMDs signature.
Mechanical Engineer @ Toyota Manufacturing. Work in the Stamping Shop, and mostly work with the processes - therefore no R&D. We build the RX350, Corolla, Matrix & Rav4.
Worked @ Honda back in 2007-2008 as a co-op when in university, that is where I started liking the TSX.
