VBP vs. PWP

I feel really dumb for posting this, because in the end you need to choose what you like. But, I'm still curious to see what others think

Anyway, VBP Tech vs. PWP Tech, both with Aero bodykit and decklid spoiler, along with some 18" or 19" wheels.

What would you choose and why? Has anyone had issues with either of these colors? What about rock chips? I assume white would hide the rock chips much easier.

My wife has PWP and no it doesn't hide rock chips. In fact, I had to go to Honda and get some white touch up paint to use before I use the PWP touch up paint from Acura because it's like water and does not cover well at all. I use tefeta white as a base and then use the PWP over the tefeta white. So that answers your Q about touching up. That said, I would assume blue might be the same.

Blue is one of the best colours for resisting sun fade.

Tough choice. Both colors lend themselves well to a variety of different colours for wheels. I personally find the blue on the bright side and becuase I'm not crazy about the look of the cars front fender, I find white to hide the lines the best.

My original colour choice was Grigio but that got messed up when they put a rock through the windshield. My next colour choice was PWP/black but because my wife got PWP/tan, I decided to go with the PMM/black.

So to answer your question I would get PWP/black because I like PWP better then VBP. Pluses and minuses to both colours I suppose. Besides, a red valve cover will look better on white then on blue....

PWP ftw! Although, both are going to be beautiful cars. I think that PWP does the body of this car the most justice. I get so many compliments from people on how it looks. I have not had to touch anything up yet, so I'm going to have to trust Lou on that one.

Both colors would look awesome with a dark colored wheel, so its a wash on that.

What's this about a red valve cover?!?

Red Valve cover a la Type-R. The next time you open your hood, the valve cover is grey. When Acura adjusts the valves they need to remove the valve cover. When they have it off you can send it to a shop that does powder coating and have it powder coated red. Like on the Integra Type-R. It looks best on white.

Yeah, I know about the Type-R valve cover, I've painted several myself and my buddy used to run a powder coating business. I was more alluding to whether or not you were implying that you were planning on doing it to yours...

Yes it is probably something I will have done. I also want to replace the silver cover, not sure what it's called, with the black one from the 1G TSX and paint or powder coat my calipers black.

Yeah, I think I'd probably just buy a real Type-R cover, as its hard to get that wrinkle coat looking right. I hear that it adds 20whp.

VBP, hands down. Gorgeous color.

White is boring.

I didn't know you could buy a 'real' Type-R valve cover for the TSX.

If you want to be safe, PWP is a timeless color. Blue just seems off on the TSX. Although, it does look hot with full Aero Kit and black chrome look A-spec wheels.....

Hard decision. I would have to see them side by side myself.

All k-series valve covers are basically the same. You just get one from a DC5r. There are a hundred sites that sell them. I probably won't get one because then I'll have to decide which car to put it on (TSX or Si), and that's just silly.

blue looks great with the white interior. blue is just too trendy of a color IMO... but if you're going for a pure custom look, would be a good option.

basic colors never die. Black, white, greys, etc.

A-men, for me personally, one can never go wrong with black white or red.

*sigh* I think it's just because the tsx looks good in all the colors

So I woke up this morning and said, you know, the black isn't bad either. I'm not sure I want black though because I've had a black car for 9 years already and think I want something different. Plus I'm not sure if I'll be fond of the black on black (interior) deal.

Regardless, all these pictures do look hot

I see you're from ATL. Me too. Where'd you find the VBP? in town?

If you're going for rarity and a custom look, VBP is going to be your go to.

If you're looking for something more classy/a little less trendy, then CBP should be your go to.

I suggest removing as much emotion as you can, and throw some logic into your thinking (I know it's hard! Was for me at least...). For instance, what are you going for? Are you going to keep the car long? Could you see yourself growing out of the color? etc. etc.

CBP looks VERY CLEAN... I see a lot of turned heads when it's fresh out of the wash.

Just my $0.02...

Either way man pull that trigger and go for the 6MT!!!

I really love the VBP. It's different. I see black, silver, and white TSXs everywhere. Every once in a while, a basque red. The blue stands out.

I'm digging the VBP, mine is grigio (love it too). But you don't usually see anything in that pretty blue. Kinda reminds me of the bf's dad's 02 TL type S.
