V6 or not?

I'd probably do a V6 TSX, but the price premium over the I4 is insanely out of wack.

Even at that price you still paid over $25 for each extra horsepower over the cost of the 4 cyl base model. Not bad at all, but I would have rather spent the extra $2k on getting the tech package. On a daily basis I'd get more pleasure out of that than dropping a second or so off the 6 speed's 0-60 numbers that the V6 gets you. To each his own I suppose.

When my lease is up in May, as a replacement for my 6 speed base model, I see a black on black 6 speed with tech in my future.

i gotta ask, since i refuse to put my tsx on the street in hoboken, where the heck are you keeping that thing there without being paranoid about it getting parking raped?

As Ive test driven both, Ive found the I4's feeling of "tossability" is enhanced by the fact the electronic steering is so sensitive. The V6 feels a lot more weighted and more comparable to hydraulic steering so the feeling of being able to 'toss' around the car wasn't there. But I can definitely attack corners hard and zip in and about traffic very easily, albeit with more movement on the steering wheel.

But while OP has made up his mind, if anyone else is buying...you should just test drive both to your satisfaction. I just could no go back into the I4 after piloting the V6.

I just test drove the V6 immediately followed by the I4 this past Saturday. Honestly, I thought I was sold on the V6 because of the amount of sheer power it had before I even drove the thing, but I found the V6 to feel more 'luxurious' than I really wanted the car to be because of how relatively quiet the car is versus the I4! Something about a high-revving 4 banger is music to my ears since I'm coming from a Civic.

Also, the V6 did feel heavier than the I4, so I felt that the I4 was going to be a better vehicle for the way that I like to drive. I decided to go for a 2011 TSX with Tech (black on black) and I love it! No regrets!

I am not sure the V6 is worth it in terms of fuel consumption and weight. If you are concerned with power and torque you really should be looking at the BMW range.

I concur. I paid same and it was worth every penny. Replace those stock Michelins with some performance tires and then try those cones. You'll be amazed at the difference. I just wish they had included the backup camera stock instead of bundling it with the Tech Pack cause backing up is a bitch.

I miss the power from my 05 RL but I dont miss the gas pump. Even with its SH-AWD and 290 HP 3.5 V6 I'd say my 201 HP 4Cyl TSX is way more fun to drive and at the end of the day thats what I want. A fun to drive car with a clutch and proper hand brake.
