Upgrading high beams to LED?
I recently upgraded my fog light bulbs to JDM Astar NX LEDs which I've been really happy with, which has gotten me thinking about replacing the high-beam halogens with LEDs as well. I know there are issues with DRL when installing LEDs...if I just disable the DRLs by pulling the fuse, will LED high beams work correctly? Or do I still need those anti-flicker/decoder harnesses?
Better yet, has anyone found LED bulbs that also work as DRLs? I would think some manufacturer out there would have figured this out by now!

I use LED DRL's in the High Beam position. XenonDepot is the brand. I have the 9005 bulbs with their LED DRL Drivers.....they are VERY Bright, Work VERY well! I have had them for over a year now with no issues! It costs about $150 for the swap. You have to buy the 9005 kit and get the separate DRL drivers. They have the anti-flicker devices. I have them on my 2010 TSX and my 2018 4RUNNER TRD PRO. Flawless on both! BUT, on the TSX it still gives me the "Chrck DRL" message with they orange "i" on the dash. On my 4Runner, no error messages.
Failure then Success
I just had a successful plug and play with these highbeam LED bulbs from AutoOne (no relation):
9005 HB3 LED Automotive Headlight Bulbs 22000LM 6500K White 2 PCS
$44.99 for pair
20 minutes to install only because the stubs had to point up instead of down which requires a bit of a stretch on the harness.
Super bright and white, well matched to the stock low beam Xenons.
P.S. I failed with Hakiris
