Upgraded ballast?

Has anyone tried upgrading our cars ballast to a 55w ballast for our headlights? I have 55w 6000k fog lights, and having the output intensity two different brightness looks kinda funny! Just tryna find out if it's a lot of work just swapping the ballasts. Thanks guys!!

i'd just do 35w for fogs and sell the 55w for a easier method!

And plus the quality of the stock 35w ballast is probably much higher than an aftermarket one. I'm sure the stock ballast is probably like at least 5 times more expensive than an aftermarktet one as well. Same goes for the bulbs, which is why i can't justify upgrading to 6000k lows and fogs :P

You guys are right haha, I dont want to mess with it. It's all nice and neat. I'll just leave it the way it is, it doesn't bother me too much, just would rather have the tips match the bottoms!

Simple, do like me and get 4300k fogs

And yeah I love how neat the ballast is attached to the headlight!

Technically thats a downgrade in terms of lumens/longevity.

And a downgrade in quality! very true!
But an upgrade in heat and "coolness" factor! I prefer my clean factory look anyway. I just laugh when people with 6000k/8000k go "I thought you had HIDs?"

What ballasts and/or HID kits did you guys purchase for your fogs? I already have bulbs. Too lazy to search through all the threads.

Yeah, I got mine from DDM Tuning. Pretty good stuff. 6000k all around. Or you can just go with eBay as well.

LOL I still don't trust DDM tuning since those are the HIDs that blew up in KillerG's engine bay right?

it was on killerg's merc i think hahah

yea i love our stock bulbs and the output. everyone always comments on how bright they are and how much it illuminates the road. i supposedly got 4300k hid fogs but the color is definitely not the same. 2 of my friends said it's got a slight purple look to it. nothing like 12000k but a tinge of it somehow.

i hate how one of my friends tries to say his bulbs are brighter than mine when his lows are 8000k or 10000k. he's just looking at it and thinking that it looks brighter when it isn't. it irks me to no end when he says shit like that.

Hahahahahah yeah, I agree. Luckily, somehow, my fogs and lows match exactly the same colour! the only difference is the lows are more focused due to the projectors while the fogs just go everywhere LOL.

And yeah, i hate super blue lights i.e. 8000k, 10000k. the highest i would go is 6000k.

Glare gives the impression of more light but, as you said, there is actually less useable light.
