Trade TSX in for TL?
I got a letter from my dealer saying they have over 300 2013 TL's in stock and need to get rid of them, and are offering a 2013 TL Tech for $34,200 and they said with the loyalty discount, you can get additional discounts, which I saw it says you can get $1,500 towards your down payment if you finance with Acura.
So I'm thinking about trading in my 2011 base TSX for a TL Tech if I can get a really good price, but I don't like how the TL doesn't have rear fold down seats. Would do y'all think?

Honestly, you're the one who's going to he driving the car, so it's entirely your decision.
I'd say to test drive a TL first, and if you like it go for the trade. Then see what they offer you for your TSX, and if you're happy with the deal, go for it.

I'd go for it, that's pretty cheap.. At the same time its your decision like they ^ said.

I like the TL and drove one for a few days as a loaner, but it is bigger (much bigger than I need) and the MPG is not the best in the AWD (sounds like your deal may be a FWD, though). The lack of fold down rear seats sucks too and while I haven't needed to use that feature in my TSX in some time, it was so nice to have when I did and always nice to know it is there whenever I need it.
The TL drove really nicely, though, and the Tech package was better than the TSX's. It also feels just a wee bit more solid (not only because it is heavier but its build quality felt that way too) and a little classier too.
Nothing beats a test drive to see what you think, and that does sound like a good deal!

I chatted with the dealer online today while I was at work and they said they can give me the 2013 TL FWD Tech for $32,699 and I asked if they can go lower, they said if I come to the dealership, they are willing to work with me, so maybe I can get it lower. I'm hoping they are willing to let it go for $30k since they have so many TL's in stock... I plan on putting the factory under body spoiler kit on it to make it look better since I don't care for the way it looks stock.

Are you planning on trading your tsx or just buying the TL? If you're trading the price of the TL will only be "good" if they offer you a decent price on your tsx. My friend was going to trade in his 6month old civic for a used "mugen" fitted one, but they offered him 11k, when he bought for 17k. And his car was only 6 months old with about 8k miles.

32k for a TL with tech is pretty low... I think they were planning to screw you on the trade in, when they find out that you don't want to trade in your TSX they may back out... Just a thought.

A lot of great comments here, but I would agree with this poster in particular and suggest negotiating the new car without bringing up your TSX for trade in.

They quoted me that price before I mentioned anything about trading a car in. Guess I'll see what they'll really let it for without a trade when I go to the dealership.

You have to drive it to see if you like the car first.
I had the TL SH-AWD for a loaner when my TSX was in the shop (pretty cool loaner eh?) so I had that for a good few days. I was glad when I got my TSX back. It isn't that the TL isn't good, but it is a heavy car (especially the AWD model) and it definitely drives like it. The 3.7L in the SH-AWD model does give you PLENTY of power, but overall the TSX is the sportier of the 2, by a fair margin. It is much quicker on its feet, the steering is quicker, has more feel to it, and while underpowered compared to the TL, it makes up for it in driving dynamics.
The Japan-made TSX somehow also feels it's better built than the America-made TL in terms of interior fitment, or even quality of materials inside. Oh yeah, the rear seats don't fold down on the SH-AWD model either, which could be a deal breaker if it's your only vehicle / if your other vehicle isn't that big.
OTOH the TL is roomier, the keyless system is cool and actually convenient, the rear seats have WAY more legrooms, and overall imo the car looks better.
So it's your choice and what is important to you. For me personally, if they have a 6MT SH-AWD I'd be tempted to go for another test drive, otherwise I'd just say no to the TL.

i would at least wait until the TLX is revealed. you might get buyers remorse. who knows, maybe they will discount the TL even better when the TLX is revealed.

So I ended up getting a 2013 TL Advance FWD and will be selling my TSX to my brother. I have the aero sport rear bumper in CBP. Anyone want to buy it in the Houston area?

Yup. I tell myself I'm going to do this every time I buy a car, and don't ever end up doing it. Highly recommend, though.
