Tire Size

Hi there,
I recently purchased a set of 18x8 +42 offset rims for my 09 tsx. I'm looking for a set of tires for these rims but I'm stuck between 225/45 or 245/40. Which would be the best choice without compromising the speedo too much? Also I am on stock height.

the width of the two proposed tires are vastly different....
with a 225mm wide tire, it'll be stretching the tire onto the wheel...this practice is common in the stance scene as you can stretch a tire as you camber the wheels at extreme angles.

the 245mm wide tire will make the car look more aggressive. a wider tire is common in the performance scene, as a wider tire has more grip. you will be able to accelerate better, stop better, and corner better with a wider tire.

225/45 would be totally fine on a 8" wheel.

But I would use a 245/40. It might look a *little* pinched, but honestly, most 245's will look fairly squared up.

V6 sizing shouldn't be used on a 4cyl. Your VSS isn't set up for the larger diameter rolling stock.
