Time to mod :) Opinions on trunk tray/liner

Does anyone have an opinion on the trunk tray versus the flexible trunk liner for the wagon. It'll probably stay in place semi permanently. Aside from using the cargo area for the usual stuff, I'll be carting around two Montague Paratrooper bikes with the corresponding gear.

I suspect that the liner would probably protect better - agreed?

IMO the trunk liner allows things to slide around. However the carpet attracts dirt, pine needles, etc. I'd say the best is the liner with some strap downs for fragile cargo.

I have the trunk tray accessory and it does the job well. For your bikes wouldn't it be easier to remove and wash the tray vs the liner?

I have both the tray and liner in my wagon. I actually have the liner in with the tray over it... we have a golden and sheltie, they are furry dogs. The fur went into all the cracks and crevices in my wife's car, so we got both the liner and tray for my wagon.

Interesting idea. I was contemplating the same thing and was wondering how that would look/fit. It appears that the liner has holes for the tie down hooks, correct? Those aren't accessible with the tray, right?

Here are the installation instructions for the liner. Perhaps that'll help.

Which German forum? Perhaps I'll hang out there too.

I suspect you are right. The combo Liner+Tray is interesting too.

My concern with the tray is that you are left with an awkward bit of trunk tray sticking up in the air in the middle of the trunk as soon as you fold the seats forward.

Am I over-thinking this?

I've never heard of the liner either...LOL. I think the tray would be easier, but that's just an opinion. I have no experience witht hings of this nature. But I do have the tray for my seden and things tend to slidel around quite a bit.

I think this mod deserves mod of the year

They "slidel around quite a bit" in Slidell?

What do I win for mod of the year?

You get either killerG or ed for a night. you can choose the lesser of two evils.

i have the tray. if you fold the seats down, yes the trunk tray will stick up a little but it's not going to hinder anything and if i remember correctly, it'll flatten out if you put something on it. what kind of material is the liner made of? the trunk tray is super easy to clean.

How about a night with one of the women depicted in KillerG's most recent avatars?

I have no clue what the liner is made of. It looks a bit difficult to handle for leaning. Maybe the liner plus tray is good.

Just wait until we start talking about replacement windshield wiper blades.

It´s the best german Accord 08+ Forum, which is almost the same car as the TSX. Difference in lights and accessories.
